Approach the ramp with a lot of speed – the smaller the ramp, the less air you can get with an early grab because you will case the coping so make speed adjustments according to ramp. As you roll up the transition, pick a desired grabbing position (I advise one that is in the middle of the board as it gives you more control for early grabs). As you come to the coping, pull the board up and slap your trucks/tail off the coping for more air and to kick you back so you won't case. Pull the board up for extra height. Wait to make sure you clear the coping and let go of the board. Roll away fakie.
