IntroductionA trick that reeks of style, the ollie north (or one-foot ollie) is essentially an ollie where you extend your front foot off the nose of the board. It's a great way to diversify your tricks down gaps, and can help with board control overall. What You Need to KnowOther Skills: You're going to want a lot of overall board control experience, and knowing how to 'tweak' ollies will make this an easy experience for you. What You May Find Useful: Doing The TrickPositioning: Set up like an ollie, but instead slant your front foot slightly towards the nose. Cover most of the board with your foot for maximum control. Motion: This trick is all about the way you move the front foot. Essentially what you want to do is ollie and push your front foot further off the nose. Optionally, you can knock it straight down or lift your foot to the side, but these methods take more practice. TroubleshootingQ: I can get my foot off the board, but I can't seem to bring it back!
A: If you cannot seem to bring your foot back to the board, then you are kicking out too far or you are flicking at an odd angle. Try pushing your front foot straight off the nose, and be modest with the distance until you have more experience with the trick. Keep in mind that you do not have to use much force with the kick or push, just do it like a normal extension of the foot in an ollie.
Q: Whenever I try to push my foot off, the board flips!
