Nollie Inward Heel

By BakerForLife at 2009-07-29 21:07

Introduction

Ahhh, Nollie Inward Heels. A somewhat difficult fliptrick, but once learned, it is very rewarding. This trick is a combination of a Nollie Backside Pop Shuv-it and a Heelflip. Most of the time the board spins in between your legs, making this the difficult part of this trick.

What You Need to Know

Tricks You Should Know:

It is highly recommended you have these tricks somewhat solid before trying this trick. This trick isn't like most, because it's rotates in between your legs, and if tried without knowing how to properly execute, you can get hurt badly.

Other Skills:

As stated above, since the board is going in between your legs, you want to have good board control before trying this trick.

What You May Find Useful:

Try them Fakie first. Some find them easier. Personally I do not. I learned these Nollie before Fakie, but it may be different for you. Try it out and see what happens.

Doing The Trick

Positioning:

Have your front foot in the upper left hand corner pocket of the nose (right if your goofy). Then have you back foot about in the center of the board, or wherever you put it for a Nollie Heelflip.

Motion:

Alright, once you've in the postion, bend your knees like for any other trick, and get ready to pop. Once you pop down, immediately scoop to the right (left if goofy) and at the same time, with your back foot, flick DOWN and OUT. It's important you know this, because if you just flick out, it won't rotate fully. Once you've got the flip going, the board will rotate in between your legs. Once you see the griptape, try to catch the board with your back foot. If you caught it at halfway, your back foot will usually bring the board to the full 180, and up to your front foot to land. Once you have both feet on, land and roll away.

Troubleshooting

The board rotates only halfway.

1. Flick DOWN and OUT. I can't stress this enough. I've learned with many tricks that the key to getting the full flip on fliptricks is to flick down and out.

2. Jump a little higher, because maybe your leg could be stopping the rotation of the bard flipping.

I can get the full flip, but only 90 degrees.

1. Scoop more. You;re probably only popping and either not scooping, or just not scooping enough.

2. Jump higher as well! You might be catching it to early before letting the board have time to rotate so make you sure you jump a little higher.

Where Do I Go From Here?

Well, a Nollie 360 Inward Heel would be the next stp up from Nollie Inward Heels. Those are very difficult. Not many people can do those, but if you want to go for them, there's nothing stopping you!
