Backside 180 Heelflip

By BakerForLife at 2009-07-29 22:45

Introduction

Alright, this trick involves a heeflip with a backside 180 rotation with it. Pretty straight forward. A little more difficult than backside 180 kickflip, but nothing a average skater can't handle.

What You Need to Know

Tricks You Should Know:

These are the two bases for this trick, without them, it'll hard landing this trick. Have these two tricks down solid before going for this trick.

What You May Find Useful:

Be comfortable riding switch since you'll be landing, and rolling away switch for this trick.

Doing The Trick

Positioning:

Set up your back foot in the left corner pocket of the tail (right if your goofy). Then have you front foot just like you would for a heelflip, however you set up for yours.

Motion:

Bend your knees getting ready for the pop with your shoulders winded a little. Pop the tail, and scoop to the left, or right if you're goofy. At the same time flick down and out to get the board flipping. Wait til you see the griptape again, then catch the board with your backfoot, then with your front foot let it rotate the board the rest of the way. Land and roll away.

Troubleshooting

I can only get half the flip.
1. Pop more, scoop a little harder, and jump higher to give the board more time to spin.

I can get the full flip but only land half the 180.

1. Pop higher to give the board more time to rotate. Also jump higher to let the board rotate more before you catch it with your back foot.

Where Do I Go From Here?
