skateboard October Featured Member of the month: Burrut

Well alrighty Here's the kickoff for the first Featured member of the month. I got to interview Burrut, who is a very interesting member. I learned a lot about him and I hope you enjoy the interview. Also if you have any suggestions for me doing the interview or for who should be novembers featured member just say so. But alright I'll get to the interview.

Basic stuff whats your real name, age, and what state do you live in?

my real name is Joshua Ryan Gibson, my age is 17. and i live in California

Where did you first hear or sb-c?
i was looking up kicklip tricktips, and knew about the real website for about a year before i realized there was a messageboard

How long have you been skateboarding?
i've been skating since august of 05, so a little over two years

Where did you come up with your username?
me and my friend made up the name Burrut, and we used it for our skate/jackass crew, we thought doing stuff like jackass was cool because we were immiture 8th graders

Who are some of your favorite sb-c users?

i would have to say my top 5 are:
1. LFF- because we have awesome AIM conversations
2. Twinskate- he seems really chill and helped me with Vegas when i first got it
3. Chump Champ- we just really hit it off, we play EA skate on Xbox Live almost everyday.
4. Rewind- me and him used to be really good friends outside of sb-c, but since me and his parents had kind of a "falling out" the only time i get to talk to him is on sb-c
5. Soulicity- i dont know what it is about this kid, but he seems really cool and he really digs photography, like me

What do u like most of sb-c

i really like the fact that it is a really diverse board, we have ppl who always post in off-topic, and ppl who only post in footage section (i.e. ricta13, he really rips) and a mix of both, like me and Chump Champ

Could you describe your life without skateboarding and sbc in general?

i probably would have never lost all the weight without skateboarding, i'd be some 240 porker or more, without SB-C i'd still be on SPPF (a stupid ass pokemon messageboard) i really enjoy my time on sb-c and don't regret spending the majority of my time on here

If you weren't a skateboarder, what other activities would you primarily be doing right now?

i'd probably be playing football and being a full time jock, i played football when i started skating, and i'm glad i stuck with the activity i love

what are your favorite types of foods?

i mack on Mexican food (carne asada fries) and Chinese food. Mainly Panda Express. I order double orange chicken and another serving of sweet and sour pork

Have you made any strong friendships at sbc, and if so who would they be?

i would like to think that everybody likes me on sb-c, and i like all of them back. But i would have to say that me and Chump Champ are true e-friendz

Who is your favorite content writer who's name starts with a G and ends with ost?

Ghost of course, aka mouseskater

What makes sbc so appealing to you?

just the vast range of personalities on sb-c, even though i will never meet ppl on the boards, i'm pretty sure i'll remember some members for quite awhile

If you could make one change to sbc what would it be?

make me mod!! but seriously, uhhhh i think it's about perfect right now. not a change persay, but more people need to post in the footy section

Describe your social life right now for those of us on sbc.

i have a girlfriend, lots of "skater" friends and all the hot girls at my work that i eat lunch with everyday is pretty much all the people i "socialize" with

Do you have any types of pets or have you had any in the past?

currently i have three dogs, a short haired collie puppy, a dalmation, and a mini pinscher. i have a cat named turbo, a bird named Belle, a gecko named Chris a turtle and some fish

Have you ever suffered any bans or warnings on sbc?

i've gotten a warning For Mullensucks for posting a pic in crazylikeafox's rep. and because of me that new rule exists. sorry guys :(

Whats the nastiest bail you've suffered on a skateboard?

broke my leg tryin to back 180 a five. gay, easy trick i jsut don't know what happened

What do you think is the greatest achievement you've achieved
on a skateboard?

hardflips were a real achievement for me

How do you feel being sbc's first featured member of the month?

i have mixed feelings, i am happy that i got voted in for, but i know ppl think their were better choices. and i dont want ppl to think of me differently because of it. wow, that sounds so gay, whatever

What is your favorite skate video, and who's part did you like the most?

my favorite vid would have to be almost round 3. my favorite part is definately chris haslam's, favorite part of all time would be daryl angel's part in iThink. so fucking hilarious

Do you have any suggestions for me and my next interview with the next FMOTM?

hmmmm, i havent thought of anything. so no

Have you participated in any wild shananigans lately?

tonight (halloween) was scary as hell. my friend decided to get drunk and not tell anybody. so we are in his car and he is driving really shitty. i'm scared for my fucking life. i try to get out when he is at a stop sign. and he fucking takes off and i fly back into my seat. we end up at a park and he fuckin takes off and loses his keys. this is a big ass park. and he starts running up the mountain behind the park. so i start talkin shit to him to try and get him to fight me so he would stay around us. i have no clue were he is right now. and me and my friends dont want him driving. so we put his car in neutral and pushed it all the way back to his house.

What was the mascot of your high school and current school, and did you like them?

the mascot for my high school was the Golden Bears, i would of been happy with just Bears, but the Golden part makes it sound gay. And contrary to popular belief ( or not) im not in school right now since i have no working car to get to school with. but once im 18 (february) i will be attending classes at Cal State Fullerton

Do you have any advice for new skaters? And any advice to new people of SBC?

if you think you suck, then you probably do. always think positive, their are always newer skaters than you. if you really dont think you can progress than you really have no business on the board, skaters dont skate to be good, we skate because we love the feeling of being free. not being bound my innings, or a time-limit (bar contest skaters). I am really frustrated at most of the new ppl on sb-c. They think it's cool to be hard and try to get as much neg as possible. If you are a new member, try to be mellow. Avoid the flame wars by sticking to non-opinionated threads and just build that rep/post count by making intellectual posts.
