Nike 6.0 Air Insurgents

By Volcom5E at 2008-07-08 15:06
Nike 6.0 Air Insurgents

Features:

  • Textured toe cap for increased durability
  • Air cupsole with airbags in the heels
  • Internal loops for lace protection
  • Padded perforated mesh tounge for breathability and comfort

Price: This is probably the worst part of the shoe. I bought these for 90 dollars and they don't get much cheaper then that. Unless you're LFF, then you can buy them for $60. The price is a little steep but the quality of the shoe makes up for it.

Colorways:

BLACK/BROWN
BLACK/SILVER
BROWN/TAN
GREEN/TAN
GREY/BLACK
GREY/BLUE
RED/WHITE
TAN/RED
WHITE/GREY
WHITE/TURQUOISE

Style: Style for these shoes varies greatly. If you're into a lighter, more casual style, they have shoes for that. If you're into a flashier kind of style, they have shoes for that. Air Insurgents have a shoe that can fit everyone.

Break In Time: These shoes broke in almost immediately. I didn't have to do anything special to do it, I just started skating them and it felt like I had been skating them for weeks.

Shock Absorbing: These shoes are great for someone who likes to throw themselves down big sets, gaps, or drops. The heel has a built in airbag which actually works very well for absorbing some of the shock and leaving you with unbruised heels.

Comfort: Have you ever walked on a cloud? If you haven't this is pretty much the equivilent of it. These shoes comfortable while skating, walking, running, jumping, or any other verb that you could be doing. I have had my fair share of shoes and none of them can even compare to the comfort of Air Insurgents.

Grip: Before I started skating these, I was skating a beat up pair of Circas. I only used these shoes to walk around in. However, I was outside skating one day and was ollieing over this sewer and I realized that my feet were sliding all over the board. They just wouldn't stick. So I ran inside and grabbed these shoes. I busted out an ollie to get them warmed up and it felt like the shoes were glued to my feet. The grip on these shoes is amazing even after three months of hard skating on them.

Boardfeel: When I buy a new pair of shoes and I start skating them and it feels like I'm skating in steel toe boots, I get pissed off. I was relieved to find that I felt perfect skating these shoes even the first day I skated them. The boardfeel for these shoes doesn't get much better then these.

Durability: If you go through shoes very quickly very quickly, I would strongly recommend some Air Insurgents. These shoes are built like a Chevy truck, like a rock. The textured toe cap is extremely strong and gives an extra month or two to the life of your shoe. I've been skating these shoes for three months straight and the only noticeable damage is a slight tear in the toe cap.
With an ordinary pair of shoes, the toe cap would have been demolished by now. If you're buying a new pair of shoes every two months, buy a pair of Air Insurgents.

Overall: If you have the money, go out and buy these shoes immediately. They are wicked strong and durable, take almost no time to break in, and have excellent boardfeel. Nothing is perfect, but these shoes are about as close as you can get.

Sick review, i've wanted to get a pair of insurgents for a while now. I really like the black/gray/white color scheme up top, I'm going to get those.

I don't agree with the review at all. I had these shoe a while ago and still have it because I never skate it. The toe cap isn't durable at all for kickflips and any kick flip tricks but it's super grippy. The grip on these shoe pretty much sucks because of the rubber used. It's bottom sole is pretty hard on the black parts which I think is designed for bikers. It's bottom sole is pretty durable because of that. The board feel is pretty much average no better. I have gone threw alot of shoes before to judge this shoe. The only thing thats great is the look.

You must have gotten a bad pair because I've owned three pairs and all three were excellent.
