A new page entry has been added:

BlankDecks.com Monster Steep Concave

Quote:
** I recently got my new blank decks that*I ordered from http://blankdecks.com/*. I ordered the 10 pack of "Monster steep concave" because*I wanted something with decent concave obviously. I just started skating the deck and there were a few things*I noticed. First being that the board had a large nose and tail which is good. Second is that it had good pop but it*wasn't the concave*I was really*looking for. The concave was good,*but after skating a ZooYork for a while, I really got used to skating a deck with a lot of concave. Third is that it took a little for me to get my*into doing tricks consistantly on this board, but that is all part of getting used to a new board.

I demand that you write a followup review once one of these decks die, you didn't mention durability.

i changed the title "Blank Decks 10 pack" doesnt reflect what the review is about.

Your reviewing "Blankdecks.com Monster Steep Concave" who realy cares if you bought 2 or 10?

I also agree that you should've mentioned durability and probably should've waited a little while with this reviews until you've been through a deck.

how much did all the decks cost because for me boards die so quickly and a 10 pack of strong boards would be great.

Why wouldn't you get the ultra steep concave. It says that that is the steepest they have, not the monster concave.

Default comparable?

blankdecks.com likes to copy alot of the shapes the big name companys sell, so i was wondering, would the monster steep concave be comparable to a monster concave from almost?

I skate ulra steep concaves (from black decks), I skated a monster concave, for me it wasn't deep enough, but for some reason the monster concave on blinds are good.

Default blankdecks.com monster steep concave

I bought this deck solely on the recommendation and reviews of this thread.I ordered the 7.625x31.375 with Iron Horse grip for 4.99 extra. It cost me $34.92 with shipping.Anyaway when I took it out the box,my first impression was,"Wow,it's tiny."When I last skated in 1991,this would have been considered a mini.I assembled it and took it for a spin the day after Thanksgiving. It felt solid, but that could also be attributed to the fact that every component on the board was new.At first I couldn't tell if the pop was good, since I hadn't ollied in 14 years, coupled with the fact I couldn't discern the nose from the tail, but today I can tell you ,it slides well, wears well and has decent pop.As an aside, when I was skating back in the day,a company called Alva and another one called had H-Street(Matt Hensley stand up!) some seriously deep concave,to the point the board ollied and flipped itself. To see riders today essentially riding boards more in line with what Rodney Mullen was riding in 1988(flat-ass 2x4 with some kick)astounds me.Also,as good as this deck is,I think I could use a bigger one.By the way,I landed the 2nd ollie north attempt,2nd backside no comply, about 4 tries on a fronside 180 ollie and today all manner of bs boardslides ansd fs grinds on some ledges.Naturally,my bs ollie tricks have disappeared,my manuals are nonexistent, tailslides gone, kickflips also.I was trying some slappies to no avail,I used to do those to salad grind.Needless to say,I put a beating on this deck, and for 4 days use, this kid thought I had it a year.I recommend it for those on a budget, who needs graphics?Although some say buying blanks cheapen skateboarding, what are you supposed to do if you run through decks like Kobe ran through the Raptors?Cop one!
