Default Does this mean the deck is waterlogged?

I was walking home from work, and suddenly, a bunch of losers decided it'd be funny to chuck eggs.

I had my skateboard with me, and one of the eggs came flying at me and on instinct, I blocked the egg from coming at me, leaving a mess of yolk on my grip.

I quickly went home, and thought it'd be okay if I washed it. With water.

Later, my brother comes downstairs, tellingg me its going to log.

This deck costed 90$, and I definatley dont wanna get a new one.

It wasnt a lot of water. Enough to soak the grip and wash off the yolk.

What are the chances of it being logged?

its a mystery deck...

Depends on how much water was on it, and if you dried it afterward.

It's ruined throw it away.

No, but seriously, skate it and you tell us whether or not it's water logged or not.
I probably sweat more a session onto my board than you wet it.

@ 1crazyboy7

The eggs hit the deck of the skateboard, covering just about most of the area except for the screws and above the screws area, on both ends of the skateboard.

Then, I put in enough water to rid of the egg yolk, but the water seemed to wear down the grip-

The color of the wood looks wet, and I wrapped a towel around it -(I dont want to heat it, because I dont even have money to buy griptape)

@ Crack
Karma shall get them. Im depending on her.

@ Bitentili

Should I really just throw it out?
And if I skate it, how do I know whether or not its waterlogged?

... no you shouldn't.
If its waterlogged when you pop it'll feel like you're dragging cardboard into the air and it'll sound really dull.

It's prolly fine.

Most likely its fine, but if the wood starts splitting, I'd watch out for chips. I skated a mildly waterlogged Enjoi, and it was fine.

So, i tried skating it-

It's making eiry noises it didn't make before.

Like, creaks (Like stepping on loose floorboards)

The color of only a part of the ply is the color of damp wood. Although, the other side plys look dry and fine.

And some of the egg yolks stuck in the grip O.O

Smack the tail and nose on the ground, and if there isn't a sharp pop, it might be bad. I don't know how accurate this would be though.

Post a picture if you can, and just scrub the grip with windex, not water. Use an old toothbrush and scurb in circules. Then dry it off fast by padding a paper towel.

It will be fine. It takes a lot of water to water log a deck. Unless it's some shitty Walmart style deck.

....oh wait....all decks are the same...I'm so stupid, forgive me.

This isn't the same guy who said that, and the OP will probably have no idea what you are talking about.

lol the part that got wet isn't even the part you're going to pop on, what you worried about.

It might be a bit weaker but it should be fine.

they put laquer on the top of decks which keeps out most water, but if you soaked the board then ride it and if it feels different then it probably is. If not don't worry about it

stop making excuses bro. there's nothing wrong with the deck, and the creaking comes from the trucks. go skate. Plus at your level of skating, shit like this doesnt even make a big difference. I rode on a waterlogged piece of creature that just hit the bin for a year. It takes a shitload of water to waterlog a deck, not some dabs which wash off egg.
