Dude, that was BEAUTIFUL. That touched me so deeply(no homo) because i've gotten so much shit for who I am as a person and I'm not HATED in school, but i'm not popular. I don't get girls at the snap of my fingers, but the few things I put my heart into are things I LOVE. Thanks for this dude, this was a wake up call. :]

Spot on, man. It's so saddening to see teenagers basing their decisions upon social solidarity that has no initial meaning in their lives. Finding somebody who thinks on their own is such a rare thing to find nowadays.

the death of skateboarding thing was kinda faux-introspective, but this is very well done. its also worth noting that at the end of the day, you ARE THE SUM OF YOUR EXPERIENCES. you are what you take from your past. thats always a good thing to keep in mind, day to day especially.

I'm going to be honest. That was pretty cheezy.
I agree with the message. There really is nothing wrong with putting effort into making friends and being popular, though, and to allot of people it just comes natural. I still think you're one of the cooler members. |

cheesy is spelled with an 's'. alot is spelled with one 'l'. perhaps spend less time trying to be popular and more time learning to spell. |

People die every day, having a higher education will not stop death. So I chose to party and ignore middle school and high school.

I was jonah in summer heights high basically, except instead of breakdancing it was skating, all I cared about was having fun, girls, being funny, skating. Go watch summer heights high, I think the whole message of that show is- who was really the bad guy? What kind of system is it when someone can be punished so severely just for having a good time and being a bit ignorant about the importance of school work? Meanwhile someone like ja'mie, a total horrible person and moron, is treated like a queen and will graduate with honours. Mr G, the gay asshole teacher, gets pandered to and has his ass kissed despite his ridiculous demands and really borderline evil character. Jonah gets expelled for petty bullshit and sent back to a third world country. I got expelled from 2 schools and after the 2nd just dropped out. People ask why was I expelled, and I honestly can't say. There was no real big incident that caused it, I just was a slacker and a clown and little tiny things would get me in the principal's office, then they'd have unrealistic demands of change for me to meet that I ofcourse wasn't going to live up to, and they'd be like "oh shit, he didn't do it, he's mocking us and spitting in our faces" when really I was just like "fucking leave me alone, shit, I want to skate and maybe get some pussy, wtf are you even talking about?". I couldn't possibly care about what they wanted me to care about, it was just so far outside of my mind, I had my own real life to worry about. In all honesty though by focussing on the social aspect of school I developed amazing real life skills, much more usefull in real life than what you learn by paying attention in class. By paying attention in class you get the pieces of paper that allow you to get other pieces of paper that will get you jobs, but I mean as a person I feel I've developed more richly and thoroughly specifically because I was never broken in to succumbing to studying. I lived instead, and grew because of it. I'll lead some kind of life, I probably won't be rich. But I see tonnes of rich ex-nerds with their starchy shirts, stressing about their important jobs and worrying about their money and not really having any idea how to have fun, and I wonder if they really do have it better than me? Another thing, just as a side note, I don't feel they're even smarter than me, infact it seems their brains are filled with information about computer coding and bullshit and they can't carry a normal intelligent conversation. The education system is fucked up, basically. It's breaking the spirit of some people and crushing their potential, rewarding others with mental illnesses like aspergers syndrome, and then throwing maybe the best most genuinely "successful" people (those who manage to flourish in the social aspect of school) away. |
