Get a mac dude. I used to support MS all the way and I used to make fun of apple...but now that I have one it is amazing expecially for video editing. I reccomend getting a 15inch since it has more power than the 13 inch but you might wanna wait until january because apple always screw people over and they update all their macbook pros.

imacs are basically non portable laptops. So like everyone else in the thread said, go with the macbook.

i was kind of aiming toward getting an imac. macbook pro would be just as good for storing a lot of video files? i don't want it to overheat with all the programs and space i'll be using.

i didn't want to go too far over $1500.

they can use imovie just like the desktops. Its just as easy to use, except portable (yay) so yea. its great!!!

I'd say go for portability. If you're getting a mac, it might as well be a laptop.

invest in an external HD if you want more space to store files
