no cell phone service - Skateboard-City Forum

so i have verizon wireless, and ive always had no problem with having service ever. all of a sudden tonight, i havent had service at all. I realized it when I was with my friend in center city, and he told me to shut off my phone for a minute and turn it back on,. I did that and had service for a while, but now I'm on campus (where i have NEVER had a problem with service) and I don't have service at all. Ive tried turning my phone off, taking out the battery, etc. nothing is working and its pretty important I have service cause its my main way of communicating with people... not all my friends have a way to be on facebook or whatever all the time and I definitely need my phone later tonight/tomrrow.

if anyone can help me out, like anything i can try to get service (like i said, this NEVER happens so its really weird, i think theres something wrong with my phone maybe?) that would be extrememly helpful thank you

i just thought of that deadzone commercial, i doubt it's anything with your phone itself but just the service of the area, what kind of area are you in terrain wise?

See if anybody else is having problems with the service in your area.

Cell phone areas seem to do that once in a while. Not exactly sure why, but most of the time it's something going on with the provider and not the phone itself. I've had my service gone for a night a few times.. Just went to sleep and when I woke up it was straight

im in a city (philadelphia) and i cant tell if anyone else has service here cause i dont have any service to ask them... and its 2:30am so no one is up anyway

i actually needed to talk to this kid sometime tonight, so its kind of important...
and i definitely need to have my phone working tomorrow to figure out rides to this thing.

Well maybe said kid doesn't have service either, therefore waiting until tomorrow to talk to you. So you should be good. Otherwise, you can't really do much about it. Call Verizon and ask whats up?

how long have you had your phone?
if you're about ready to get a new, that could be why. i have the chocolate and it does not get service in my house anymore. it used to fine, but the past couple months, it hasnt. it really blows, i'll get a text like 5 hours later than when it was sent

its not just my dorm, its all over the entire city.

i would call verizon but i dont have a phone...

still no service too, and i need my phone today so i can figure out my ride home from my friend (he's going to be driving from somewhere else to come by to pick me up, but i have absolutely no idea what time he's getting here)

oh and ive had this phone since like february. not up for a new one for another year and a half.

also i realized that the calendar doesnt work when theres no service, and i use the calendar on my phone for a LOT of reminders about stuff, like if i go to the calendar it just stays at the earliest date (which happens to be January 1980... helpful, right?)
