Take a socket wrench or a skate tool, and put it on your kingpin then turn clockwise.

I think it's hilarious that this is a sticky. I also think it's hilarious that this is a skateboarding forum and yet the OP couldn't even spell "board" correctly. How do you spell "bored" instead of "board" anyway? How can you not notice that when you're typing?

Idk why but whenever I hear people say "I'm a noob at sk8ing," I think it tarnishes the image of what skateboarding is. Why can't people just say "Hey guys, I'm new at skating and I'm not good at all." And wow this sounds gay

I'm a firm believer of the fact that if you dont know how to put your set-up together, then you dont deserve to skate.

I remember giving my cousin a hand-me-down set up. I deconstructed that fucker and made him set it up.

Lego sets really do help give a person skills in building and putting things together.
I'd scribble my signature onto this but my only option is to leave you with something interesting to read. I have none.

To tight your trucks this is what you need,

    • Trucks (of course)
    • skate tool, 15mm wrench or 15mm socket wrench.

    1. get your 15mm wrench or skatetool.
    2. get your trucks
    3. if the trucks are not on your deck please do so now.
    4. put the wrench or skatetool on the king pin.
    5. if there to tight turn it left. if there to loose turn it to the right.
    6. stand on your bored and try them out.
    7. if there not how you want them just adjust them.

Here is a pic that might help.

    Hope this helps you.

For those who need this guide, he forgot to mention a pneumatic impact wrench is probably your best bet. Make sure to use that baby full force

If you want really tight trucks, I suggest you venture. There is some trucks you can't have very thight or very loose. Ask your local skateshop!

How to tighten the king pin bolt is common sense

    But

That will just destroy your bushings

And if you have soft bushings it won't do much

This post is not accurate and will mislead new skaters

If you want tight trucks ride Ventures

If you want louse trucks ride Indys with Bones soft bushings

Tightening the shite out of Indys with Bones soft bushings in them or even Krux with the stock bushings or theeve with bones bushings as standard will jus break the bushings and expose the top of your kingpin thread leaving it susceptible to being stripped

It will not make your trucks tight it will just break them

If you want tight trucks then buy a model of truck that do not turn such as

    Venture

    Or

    Tensor

Although I really really would not recommend doing that

If your trucks lousen themselfs the kingpin is cranked to tight

Just ride trucks that do not turn like Vebtures

This thread is bullshite you shouldn't tighten the crap out of your trucks

If you insist on cranking your trucks tight so they don't turn you have to

Take the kingpin bolt totally off

Break off a piece of plastic bag or some VERY thin plastic

Stretch it over the kingpin thread

Then screw the bolt on over the thin plastic

That way it won't un-tighten with out a tool

And HEY PRESTO you will be tick tacking like a retard all round your local park and will get befriended by the venture kids who sit next to the scooters

You can do this with any thread that comes undone though
