The nostalgia goggles are strong on you, I don't believe he's right in the end. The event of forums going under was going to happen one way or another, there's no hindsight is 20/20.
That's like him saying he could have found a way to save cassette players in cars despite most people opting into uber lft etc ride sharing rather than owning a car.

This fucking website was bound to die one way or another and in the end it was a mass amount of users asking to literally get all their info deleted off this website rather than lack of users wanting to be here.

i believe forums could make a comeback or at least have their place. i was reading the motorcycles reddit the other day and a lot of people were remarking old forums were generally way more helpful especially on DIY videos and what to buy, rather than the circlejerk on reddit where it's hard to cut through the "wow thanks for the gold" and "this" and whatever

I'd get irritated when they banned people, cause a lot of the shitbags were pretty entertaining on here. Boneskater and Hairy_Johnson were two that come to mind. But ya, there's no way this place would have ever stayed as busy as it did during it's hayday. There's a few forums left that are still kinda busy(sherdog, bodybuilding.com) but pretty much every forum out there is a shell of it's former self.
