New to filming

What should I use starting out. Homie has a new skateboard company and I'm the new filmer. Where can I learn what I need to become a good filmer? Please help!!

If you're just starting out, buying a lot of equipment doesn't seem like the best idea. I would just try to use a good iphone, etc and piece together your vids. I remember reading in a magazine way back about these guys that made an entire part with an iphone, wish i could find it
