Hey dudes.
So I'm getting back into photography. It's on my phone for now. Whatever.
I left photography for a short while cause it simply wasn't easy for me to be producing content that I had heart for.
Now, that's changed.
I commute on the train about an hour each way to work. I've always loved the train and train station aesthetic from a photography standpoint. The sometimes brutalist architecture, mixed with the flurry of people who all have stories and generally nondescript faces, to the harsh fluorescent lighting, mixed with the boring tiles and graffitied walls really interests me and to me provides a very interesting setting and subject for some street photog.
'Commute' in this sense also refers to any walking around I do on my break at work and to and from the station. I work in one of the more gritty neighbourhoods in Brisbane, Australia and the aesthetic of the place is really mint.
While individually the photos won't necessarily be anything unique, I'm hoping they as a collective will be, and at least it'll serve as fodder for keeping me occupied on the commute and to recognise beauty and art conceptualization in the mundane: this concept to me has always been fascinating to me.
I posted one as a tester on insta, which didn't yield much success. I feel this sort of art direction is lost on a medium like that. I think that posting to Tumblr is the best option for this. I will also be supplementing the photos with some text on occasion, especially if something interesting happens.
I'm working on the blog and shit right now, I'll post up a link to that shortly.
I'll post the original content here occasionally to update so you don't have to click links and shit. I really feel thankful to SBC as the old resident photographers really helped influence my direction with photography.
With all this said, I hope you enjoy my little slice of life. I'll be endeavouring to post at least a couple times a week.
First photo (from insta - they won't all be square):
Critique on both the concept and the photos themselves always welcomed, and any comments in general.

I didn't know it rained in Australia.
maybe I should get my tumblr up again and follow this
I like the current photos and the short blurbs are nice too. I'll look at all your shit as long as I remember to look on tumblr or you update here.
Followed. Absolutely love the photos/captions, and reason behind it. Definitely has me wanting to go shoot a few rolls.
Thanks <3
