Geoff Rowley was one of the most gnarliest dudes on a board that i've seen growing up as a kid. I remember being hype on the all the Sorry video growing up. To think that he's leaving Flip is a shocker to me. He was one of the last person that i did not see leaving a company that he has rode for majority of his skate career. 20 years of amazing times at Flip. I think he'll start a new company or go to one.
Don't know, will probably find out soon. Could be a lot of reasons.
1. probably doesn't agree with how things are at Flip
2. wants to give up his share at Flip and just live peacefully (no more video parts, just time with family)
3. Plans to start a new board company and bring in new riders or go to an establish team
Heck who knows, we can call this an era of skaters leaving their old team and starting a new one.
1.) What's changed at Flip that he'd disagree with? I don't know how the company is operating.
2.) I doubt that, earlier this year he was laughing at people thinking Propeller was going to be his final video part.I don't think he's hanging up the board or camera any time soon.
3.) This wouldn't surprise me, but I'm really hoping it isn't the case. Too many people are trying to make their own companies now IMO.
I'm honestly really bummed to see him off Flip, especially after all the hype he's been giving to Olivera and Gonzales.
I feel like pro skaters have lost some of their genuine aspect in the last ~5 years or so, at least as far as market choices go. I dunno.

Wow.
I'll always credit his Sorry part as the thing that pushed me over the edge and back on a skateboard again.
This just doesn't feel right at all, I wonder what his motivation is.

Well find out soon, hopefully Jenkem does an interview with him about his departure from Flip.
Jenkem just did an interview with him recently
I had never actually seen his "Sorry" part before. God damn that was really impressive, amazing style and skill.

Sounds like he's pulling a Dave Mayhew. Getting away from the business and going on hiatus or into retirement. Any skating he does might not be documented, just for fun. Total shame to see the greats go.

actually he said on his instagram post that "Exciting new opportunities will allow me to be utilized to my fullest potential"
so im guessing he's going to join a friend who is starting a company. pretty bummed out since he's my 1# favorite skater :( got his pro model shoe twice, flip just won't be the same without him.
