I've honestly never listened to any vinyl, being from seattle which some people dub 'the most hipster thing since portland' I really feel out of place wanting to begin.
I am not a snob for audio since I'll listen to mp3 so there really is not physical need for me to hold anything, I guess I am just part of the 'lost' generation who will listen to music despite its audio degeneration on the technical quality. I am aware that there is better audio file types but they take up larger space.
I have a few records, I wouldnt even call it a collection really. right now I have
the smiths debut
sonic youths debut
sleeps dopesmoker, super cool its just a one hour song of drone metal riffs
nirvanas bleach and incestide
black sabbaths 13
and the new 7 inch lantern of the soul from al cineros (sleep and OMs bassist)
and I ordered my favorite black sabbath record sabbath
bloody sabbath
tbh I dont care much about the sound quality as much as I like being able to physically put on a record while I clean or read a magazine
To me it's a lot more about the physical product itself. I like records because it's fun to gather a collection of them, to me they're more interesting than just owning a CD, and yes they do sound pretty good too. I dunno, to me it's nice to be able to spin a record and blast it as I'm working around the house or whatever as opposed to just listening to my iPod, which I do plenty anyway.
I told myself I was gonna diversity my collection with other bands, but I couldn't resist picking up Andrew Jackson Jihad's live record when I saw it at the shop the other day. Super awesome full band arrangements of their older stripped down songs.
Gotta get those Modest Mouse reissues soon though.

only vinyl I've gotten even somewhat recently were four Neil Young records on ebay that I bought on a whim.
If your headphones aren’t beats by dre you’re a peasant :^)
Think my next big purchase is gonna be this beaut.

I wanna get a quality turntable. I'm using a Jensen, and while it sounds decent, a couple of my records skip a bunch on it, and I know it's not the record itself. When I try them on any quality player with a weighted arm it plays perfectly. Kinda sucks cuz my room is tiny so it's super convenient to have.

I probably don't have anything of much interest to you guys, I usually hit up salvation army and pick up a few good oldies, but every now and then I find an indie or hiphop album I like (found wu-tang recently)
My last haul consisted of some colored vinyl: Babyhead, Karate Party, and a disney album. imgurDOTCOM/a/becQl (.com removed because I'm not actually able to post links yet)
I really want to pick up a U-turn orbit turntable for the sound, and most importantly (not really, but still) the style points. Those things are pretty damn sexy.
got an old pressing of agent orange - living in darkness and original press of bitchin summer in the mail today. living in darkness is one of my favorite albums.
adolescents self titled is also en route.

I've had my eye on that for a while now, love that album.
Actually found it at a Guitar Center, oddly enough. Hidden in the midst of grossly overpriced classic rock records.

that is strange. i found copies of pump up the valuum and frisbee at a secondhand store earlier this week but they had a 60 buck price tag on em each. ridiculous.
Yikes, fuck that. Mine was $25 after tax, so not too terrible. I'd love to score a copy of Wolves In Wolves clothing or So Long And Thanks For All The Shoes.
I've got a soft spot for NOFX.

I'm listening to so long and thanks for all the shoes right now. my friend found an amp in a thrift store for 20 bucks that has all working inputs so i could hook my tape and cd player up now. been going through my cd collection and found my copy of SLATFATS from when i was 13 and had to play it.

Hell yeah. Once I have more space I wanna get a cool set up going for my music. My record player is pretty convenient because it's small and sounds okay, but I want a good turntable.

Ya this definitely isn't a cheap hobby. I spent $450 this summer on a turntable, amp and speakers. My CD player and tape player were my parent's. It's rad being able to play all formats on a decent setup.
Also, Picked up Millions of Dead Cops - Self Titled and Multi Death Corporation 7" reissues the other day.
