I went to a secon hand shop last weekend and managed to grab a few nice ones.
    I always go for a random buy, I got;
"The Waikiki Beach Boys - Sounds of Hawaii". 1
A five LP collection called "The Buddy Holly story" 2
A five LP collection of "The Seekers" 2.

    5, 11 records...
    $8.29...
I'll maybe post some of my collection when I get home. Got some cool shit.

I've actually got those same bookshelf speakers. I was looking at the lp120 but I think i'm leaning more towards saving up extra dough and splurging on a debut carbon and a nice tube preamp.

Oh and BTW anybody in this thread looking to beef up your record collection, i recommend checking out vinyl me, please.

Every month they select a record (usually some kind of special edition/pressing), then they include an art print inspired by the record and a cocktail recipe pairing to drink while you listen to the record. Its kinda cool and it only costs 75 bucks for three months I think. Next month they are teaming up with stones throw for a limited edition of 3000 pressing of madvillainy which should be dope.

there's also several more that I either wasn't familiar with or I'm not really a fan of, or they were just random compilations that weren't too interesting.... and quite a few more at my cousins house (AC DC, Alabama, Jefferson Airplane, ZZ topp, billy idol). there's actually some really weird shit in there because it's just kind of an ongoing collection that's been passed down in my family. like there's some japanese orchestra, a bunch of old 40s dance records that might be cool but I have no idea what they are, and random educational records that taught my mom how to read lol.

too bad I don't have a record player.

Does any of you know about that site "vinyl me, please"? I was looking at if yesterday, fired in a request for an invitation, got the email, clicked to confirm, and since then the whole site's been blocked...? I'm in the UK anyway, really it was just curiosity more than anything.

it's a legit site, I got my first shipment in earlier this week. That's weird the site is down, but i'm not POSITIVE on this but i'm not sure they ship internationally cause they are still kinda small. shoot an email or something. if you can get signed up, its a pretty cool service they offer. once my three months is up i'm definitely gonna keep re subscribing.

Awesome! It's a cool concept, and I'm keen on getting into something like that.
I'll try again and see if it works. Either way, I'll probably give them an email and see what info they have on international selling.
If anyone knows anything a bit closer to Britain, of a similar vein, give me a shout.

Picked up "Isn't It Worse" by Hard Girls as well as Jeff Rosenstock's new 7 inch the other day.

This is probably a really dumb question, but what's the point of 7 inch adapters? I thought it had something to do with the hole being a different size, but mine fits fine and plays well without the adapter, so I don't actually know what to do with it.

Some 7 inches (mostly older records) do have the different sized holes in the center. I feel like most newer pressings have the standard sized holes (all my 7 inch records do) but i've seen a lot of old pressings with the larger hole.

This is what I was listening to yesterday

speaking of old albums, I got these babies for free yesterday.

Lots of good shit in here. Including a Beatles' white album in really good condition on the apple label with the four photographs and poster all still in amazing condition. I'll post more once im finished rifling through them all.
