Blah, I would have loved to have seen PLG take gold. He's always been my favorite vert skater. But holy shit that trick that Shaun White did was mind blowing.

yeah but you have to admit, Shaun earned that shit. Even when PLG went ahead of Shaun, I dindt think it was good enough. He had that from the get go IMO.

Oh I 100% agree. I think Shaun White was getting fucked by the judges because PLG's 91.66 run was maybe worth an 85. It seemed like PLG was definitely the favorite by the judges. As much as I dislike Shaun White, there's absolutely no question that he earned it.

oh yea shaun won that legit, it was just annoyign to see all their runs leading up to that getting higher scores, even in the earlier rounds. even tony said plg was doing hard tricks, but his runs had a lot of easy set up tricks. then guys like bob, andy, and bucky were doing a lot more tech stuff but getting lower scores because they werent boosting as high as plg and shaun.

it was annoying because they hyped it so hard it was obvious they were only focused on shaun white vs plg and it was going to be those one and two..then all those other guys would fight for bronze.

it was the vert contest, not a showdown between plg and shaun white.

but its the xgames and espn so you have to expect that from them.

^Right, it was the same shit the whole time. It's like I fucking hate how it says "Nyjah Huston in x amount of time," rather than "skateboard street finals in x amount of time." And it's the same shit with Travis Pastrana with best trick, etc. I hate how hype plays so much more of a part in the X-Games at this point than actually being the best does. I didn't catch the street finals, so I can't say whether or not Nyjah deserved it, but the hype still annoys me. It seems like the contestants that are hyped are always favored by the judges.

yeah man, its all about the hype. On one hand I guess they are saying those big names to try and attract more viewers to the x-games to get more ratings, because someone who doesn't do any of those extreme sports still know who Shaun white, and Pastrana are, but on the other hand I don't think its entirely right, because like you guys said, they almost set those dudes up in the finals because people wanna see them.

Ryan Decenzo nollied off it, and sheckler had consistent kickflips off it. then sheckler also ollied off that like 20 foot thing. But the one who should not have been overlooked was chad ortiz. he was KILLING it.
