Yeah it's annoying, but they do it for one reason:

To become a Partner. It basically means you get paid thousands of dollars every month for certain number of views on videos. like, if you get 10K on one bid, you get like $1000. So if you got 1,000,000 views, you would get like $10,000.

if you think about it its a win win. even if people are only watching your videos because you asked them too, you make money and youtube makes money, since because of the web traffic the advertisements on there keep getting payed for
