  2. I'd go with highs. Maybe add an eighth inch riser to absorb shock a little.
  3. Be careful if you're getting a reissue deck since most are drilled for old trucks and you may have to re drill. I've read a couple of your posts so here goes my opinion.

    Most old school decks were in the 9" to 10+" range with almost no concave. Pretty much like a cruiser set up. Trucks I'd go with Independent or if you can find them Tracker. As for wheels generally you'd want something in the 60+mm range around 97a hardness. OJs, Hosoi Rockets, Big Slime Balls, or the reissue Powell wheels all seem pretty good. The only plastic I'd go with is a set of rails. They'll help you slide better and give you something to grab for certain tricks. You'll probably want faster bearings because those old boards were pretty heavy I'd go with something rated at ABEC7 or higher.
