No chuck taylor will protect your ankle haha. On the highs, the part that covers your ankle is basically a sheet of extremely thin cloth. It won't do anything to help your ankle. Personally I prefer highs, just cause I like the look better. But there's no real difference between them all besides aesthetic.

Nah, the only downside is when you're forced to skate the board backwards it's really different so I just avoid that. For example, if I'm doing a line and theres a pop shuv in it, my board will be backwards. So i'll have to quickly do a nollie shuv or something to get it back around before i continue the line. But otherwise, it's good. Pointy noses are da bomb
