Hey so I know I was mean in that thread, but I'll throw some real advice at you because I feel bad about doing that to you.

1) you're gonna want some text on your site. An "about us". some kind of info so that people know who you are/what you're up to

2) social media integration usually helps

3) Have you thought about redoing your site on tumblr? that sort of thing might work for you better as its more of a place where you're expected to just post videos/photos/shorter things
