You have a long AIT right? They should have a gym, and you will have free time to use it. There aren't restrictions on that at all.

I should also say that once you're done with AIT and onto your permanent command, you don't have many restrictions at all once you're done with work for the day.

Yeah after the first month.

It's a good bit more relaxed than basic, but it's still disciplined and structured. You don't start off with full liberties at first, you get them over time. You start out with a curfew, and no driving privileges so you'll be relying on a shuttle service for getting around. After a month or so you get cut loose more or less.

This was 2009, and I went through a program involving college courses where I would be an E-2 after basic. I had about $2,800 after basic. With only the rare visits to the EX store you get, you'll hardly spend anything outside of it you have online bills you didn't put on a temporary hold.

I was an electrician's mate. My school was 24 weeks, after that I ended up working with amphibious craft for the rest of my time in. Made it to E-4 in my 4 years in. Army basic is probably a little different from the Navy's but if you have any questions just message me.
