Sorry didn't see your response. Sounds like an interesting route to go, and you seem to have confidence in your direction so kudos.

I probably won't do much on the 4th itself, but I'm going down south to my parents for the weekend to catch fireworks on the beach and celebrate my grandparents 48th anniversary.

Thats good, I hope all goes well with the money.

I am going to apply for the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma for Music Production. I know someone who has already be through the class and he recommended it and I am tired of music theory. I know a few people there for Music Performance but in high school and college I played in small bands around OKC and I would rather write and record than tour or be on stage. I only have one more song to record then when I get back I can send in my recordings and hope I get accepted for next fall semester. I will probably end up working for a production company after working with stage set up, I enjoy messing with the lighting and sound. On the side I will work at the concert venues I know a guitar teacher at OU and another performing artist who has a Masters in Guitar Performance from OU so they will throw work at me.

Any big plans for the 4th?

Pretty good, going to UNF for computer science, working part time fixing computers but I may try and find a different part time gig. The one I'm at now treats it as an internship and just pays commission, which has been alright but I'm slowly becoming in need of a little more money. No rush or anything but yeah.

What are your plans when you get back to OKC?

Nothing exciting over here. I'm in college majoring in math.

Yeah but everything was in this hemisphere. Been to Colombia, Haiti, Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. Colombia was pretty frequent, and as you can probably imagine most of our stuff out there was for the drug trade. We also did quite a bit of humanitarian aid, which was neat because us LCU guys would be the ones to land and off load it, so pics of us would show up in Navy Times here and there haha.

Oh yeah I always like to meet people that are in/were in. I enjoyed my time in Virginia Beach the most, I worked on Landing Craft Units there, which are the amphibious craft that can land itself on a beach. Those things are so fun, we had Marines onboard with us before for some underways and they thought it was nuts haha. Definitely some fun times.

Started off in Naval Weapons Station Charleston, went to Submarine Base New London for a small bit (wasn't on subs), then finished up in Little Creek. I was an EM the whole way through, though in Virginia a lot of my work was more Damage Control based sine I had the qualifications. Got E-4 in 2010, was right in line for E-5 toward the end. Basically got out for what you said, I feel victim to cuts and couldn't re-enlist. I still got my G.I. Bill and VA benefits out of it but I wasn't too thrilled about just being let go more or less.

I hope things work out for you there though, I think it's dumb how they're funneling and pumping out at the same time.
