i know some of you have gone to hong kong, or are probably off to visit hong kong. there are places you can skate in hong kong, china or macau, but for now let's give a guide regarding one of the shops i've been to. 8five2.

8five2 according to research, is the area code of Hong Kong. The place is a bit small on an old mixed-used condominium that caters residential and small retailers and restaurants. The shop is obviously a well designed place with just the signage to look at. And as you enter, you'd be surprised to how many people are actually going there to buy apparel and goods. though not the biggest and most complete place to purchase skate products, but the service is quite well. I noticed that the guys who are actually selling us stuffs, would look at what you're wearing and would determine if you're a skater or not, hence they skate.

note, i'm just a beginner, but at least i know what people are, especially these type. let's just say, i've been practicing profiling, ever since i got that book. and until now, people are shock when i tell them you masturbate with your left hand and you put your socks first on your right foot. they'd say... dude... how'd you do that? simple. observation. it's a fun hobby. anyway, let's continue.

the shop is up the 2nd floor level, which would be on the 3rd floor if you count UG [upper ground] level. you won't be able to miss the sign of the shop since on the hallway leading to them, is well illuminated, that you'd actually notice it's yellow lit reflections of the wall. from the glass doors, you'll notice the sign 8FIVE2, and you enter. there you'll see selections of shoes, from Lakais, Nike SB [though not the biggest supplier of SB], DVS, and several other brands. Sorry, I didn't see any DC shoes here. DC shoes, sucks anyway. they rip so fast. ok, further down, you'll see decks on the walls, like HABITAT with resin 7 and stuffs, no enjoi, though. and bones bearing 8 balls. which sells 300 HK dollars. that's powell bones swiss. and for an when you buy a complete, you can have them for 200 HK dollars. according to julius brian's [owner of 8Five2] email to me.

when we got there, we were lucky enough to get the shoes for sale. Noe and me bought a 2 lakai shoes for 550 HK dollars 3740 Php, 1800+ each. I got a Lakoston, and noe got the Relay, and it was a good buy. definitely a good buy. So we fitted it and to my surprise, the shirts are also on sale, which sold 240 for 3 shirts. your choice of size. but i didn't bought any shirt, it was a bit long, since most of their products are of american sizes. sad to say, i'll stick with nike, since the fitting makes me look abit slim. yehey... gay! also, several other products, are really attracting me, like the know1edge watch, but its a bit expensive, plus i don't wear wristwatch. i guarantee you it would make my wrist swell like a guy with skin disease cursed by harry potter. the shoes are available for fitting, and you won't be alienated at all from the sales rep that are there to help you. they'll practically guide you, even where you could have your money changed [RMB are not accepted, so trade it for your HK. American dollars are accepted.]. good people. you don't have to worry communicating with them, since most of them can speak english well. but like i said, throw a courtesy | respect, and you'll get one from them.

i bought wheels and shoes, that actually reached 840 HK dollars. The guy actually helped me with choosing the right wheel for street skating.

we were practically speaking filipino, and we're actually so happy that we went there to buy the shoes | wheels we wanted. this is a better place from the snobbish double park [time square], whose attendants are not even familiar with what they're selling. plus fellow customers has a bit of racial intimidation with us. I actually heard the guy conversing regarding us and trying to predict or give assumption of who we are. but not in 8five2, if they ever had, at least keep it to themselves. but what i hated most about double-park, is that the sales people are a bunch of idiots who doesn't seem to know what products they are selling.

8FIVE2, is a good shop. you better check them out.
