i've tried and tried and tried, but no matter what in wmm i always get device is not responding. please close any programs that are using it and try again. some one please help!!!!!!!!!!

that only happens with usb. wmm doesn't detect usb, there fore you are a dumbfuck and using usb instead of firewire.

when did he say he used usb? maybe your card isnt shoved in the slot all teh way. this happened to me when i first got a firewire card.

we still really need to know if its just in WMM that he doesn't have sound...

Right click on the "My Computer" icon and go to "Properties". Now that brings up a screen with a bunch of tabs at the top, click "Hardware", then go to "Device Manager". This will bring up a menu with a bunch of expandle categories.

Find one that is relevant to your firewire card, and see if the computer is recognizing it, or not. If it isn't there will be a big yellow question mark next to it.

Did you ever install drivers?
