Alright, I've been out of the game for a long long time on this hobby. After reading around, apparently I didn't know all that much about setups in the first place, so it's a good thing I found this forum before I went and wasted a bunch of cash.
Basically, at this point, I'm keeping my old set-up for cruising around (I built it up for that, so whatever).
I'm gonna be building a complete for street skating and dicking around on curbs/small gaps, seeings how I'm not that good at skating.
I got a 7.5" enjoi deck picked out (researched them, and it looks like it'll suit my uses fine, for now, and it sounds like they're a little longer than usual boards, which I like), and this is what I want under it:
1. bones reds
2. some kind of wheels
3. krux trucks?
4. Maybe some doh dohs bushings (white, hard kind)
I picked out the Krux from reading around on here. I'm thinking 5" width. What's the difference between Krux III and Krux Downlows?
And also, does the brand of wheel mean shit? It seems like it wouldn't make much difference. I want the hard nylon kind (not urethane). What size should I be getting?
Other than those questions I have things figured out, I think. Thanks guys

Yea, you got a pretty much perfect setup goin there. Id reccoment krux downlows cause they are sick, prety much one of my favorites. Reds are all you need as far as bearing goes. Also i just skate blank wheels, they dont matter at all, just get somethin 50-55 big and like 98-101 hard.
yea evryone will be telling you something different about your set up and what you should get on this sight if you havent noticed. Your set up looks fine. krux downlows have the allen key tightening and they can loose their tightness sometimes. so, unless you HAVE to have low trucks... just get the III's they are simpler. bearings are great, deck is good, wheels wize....blanks if you just want some cheap wheels. but if you want quality weels get bones STF. they are formulated to NEVER flatspot. so they last you forever and you can slide around without destroying them. but they are urethane. but they are harder that 100 on an A scale which is really hard. size wise get 50-55 like the other dude said. happy skating.

Everything you have sounds fine. I might recommend a 7.75 cause thats the perfect all around deck. but there both fine. you don't need to buy new bushings if your buying krux, there bushings are fine. some good truck brands out there are krux, venture, thunders, silvers, etc. but it's all preference.
and the difference between the III's and the downloaws is that the IIIs are like normal trucks with a nut to tighten it and the downlows have an inverted kingpin which allows grinding to be really smooth. but tightening it can be suck a pain.

Thanks for the input, everyone. Looks like I won't be buying an Enjoi, I just read that they're made by the same distributor that makes World Industry decks, and I used to hate my friend's WI like no other.
I'm looking into a Habitat or Santa Cruz Powerlyte, so no troubles there. I've also heard good about "AWS," is that Alien Workshop? I think most likely I'll wait til I go back home for spring break (next week) because there are like 5 skateshops back home and none up here (that I've found) and pick one out. 7.75 might be good too, because I got kinda big feet. I honestly don't remember much about sizing, just that my 8.25 ( :o ) I'm riding now is way too fucking wide and heavy.
I'll give the Krux III a go and follow the advice on wheel size. I'll see if I can find some of those Bones wheels too. Thanks for all the help folks! Damn it feels great to get back into skating.
I'm living in a college dorm and I got yelled at twice in 3 hours for busting tricks in my room. First the maintenance guy said I was shaking his office so I cooled it off. After he left I started again and the RA came and bitched me out. I'm gonna go hit some concrete when it stops raining, I think that's a wiser option lol

well, my fav decks are habitats, zoo york, mystery, and popwar.
but remember, all of these decks are made by big, popular company's that have a reputation to live up too. just because one person had a bad experience with a deck doesn't mean they all suck. although i've also hate ever WI board i've ridden my friend doesn't buy anything but enjoi

That's a good point to consider....hmm....I'll figure it out and let you guys know how things turned out when it's all assembled. I got a baggy of hardware already, so that's a step in the right direction LOL
Alien workshops are GREAT decks. so are habitats. evryone agrees. 7.75 is a perfect size.

yep, everything sounds fine
7.75 aws or habitat, krux III, bones reds, and bones stf, but there are also great wheels like hubba, darkstar etc. blanks will work ok if you cant afford them.

Santa cruz powerlytes are fantastic decks. give 'em a go.
Thunder trucks are pretty great, too.
and... hard nylon wheels? I've never seen any like that before, except on cheap wal-mart boards...

Yeah, I made a mistake on that. When I mentioned urethane, I was thinking the soft sticky kind like I'm riding right now (see pic). Never realized the harder wheels are urethane as well. I built this one up for transportation. the sticky and large wheels are great when it comes to rolling over shit and not flying off, but they're too bouncy for skating for fun (makes it harder to land shit).
