View Full Version : New habitat bamboo ply.
Their Hemp ply was a big hit. now they have the new bamboo plys. They look interesting. Only 15% of the decks are bamboo, and one reason they are doing this is to help the growth of bamboo farms. I have no Idea what it does to the actual board performance. I just thought I would announce this..

how will it help the bamboo farms if they are just cutting them down to put in their boards
It helps the popularity of them. There are a ton of new bamboo farms recently and they aren't being used. I don't know... That what it said on the website. Go ask habitat

how will it help the bamboo farms if they are just cutting them down to put in their boards
cause they will sell more bamboo and so make more profit
they look crazy though http://www.habitatskateboards.com/products/?p=decks&cat=157
what habitat have to say "Following the success of our Hemp Ply comes Habitat Bamboo Ply. The deck is a blend of both Canadian Maple and Bamboo. This construction is more ecologically sound then a traditional 100% Maple skateboard. Bamboo makes up 15% of the deck using less Maple wood and utilizes the incredible growth rate of farm raised Bamboo. Habitat Bamboo Ply Construction utilizes the natural characteristics of both woods. Bamboo is light and resilient while Maple has a proven record for strength. All Habitat Bamboo Ply decks have a dark natural stained top with the official Bamboo Plywood burn."

one of my freinds bought a "bastard" which is a company that uses bamboo. the thing broke very easy. he dropped it from about 5 ft. and the thing just broke. he had it for only a few days.
yea but it wasnt a habitat lol. Habitat wouldnt make a deck that broke easily.
