Scrubing
Start scrubing your grip tape after 6-7 brushes your brush will look like this(Look at Pic)then u need to rise it out in the cup of water. Then continue this over and over again till you have done it to the hole board.

Dirty Cup
So after cleaning out your brush your cup will get filled with dirty water so remember to wash it out after 2-3 dips.

Dry
After all of this just let it sit out and dry then your board should look brand new(on the grip tape)

whenever I try doing this to certain spots, the dirt just spreads, so I don't clean it anymore

The dirt is probaly old, you should try to clean the dirt every other day, if any, or it will grow old and spread when you try to clean it. The newer, the easier.

there is an easier way...you could always go to ccs.com and buy the grip gum

i bought it and i think it was worth the cash, it also lasts a lifetime

If you want to spend money. It's better to just clean it with a toothbrush and water the waiting for the delievery(sp?).

I've always been curious about gripgum. How does it work, does the dirt and debris just stick to it?

yeah it sticks to it then you peel it off the grip gum. i like it and it takes three seconds to clean it rather than like 10 with the water, plus i dont think it is that good for your grip tape if you wet it.

Water doesn't mess up your griptape, it has nothing in it to mess it up. Rain can because there are tiny particles of dust in every rain drop. The dust comes of the atmosphere.

water doesn't damage the griptape. but it sure damages the wood. so i suggest, not too much water. just be careful with how you clean it. i'm rather much concern on cleaning the bearings and the wheel part. any advice?

for bearnings i heard that if u put them in the freezer they work better, idk if that works but its worth a shot, and the wheels i just dip in hot water and let them soak for a few mins

bearings? do i have to oil them? and if yes, do i have to oil them regularly? for the wheels, my wheels are old, i saw chips from my wheels, which i think is wrong, since wheels should never chip, or does it chip? anyway. i want to purchase a good wheel, but i don't know which brand is good.

SkatingJesus

You can also use a hose and let it sit outside and dry

badasskater1
01-21-2007, 02:59 PM
Or you could just skate it until the dirt comes out of the griptape. Thats what i do and it seems to work fine.

from what i have read, there is a discussion about the actual topic, a discussion on how griptape gets messed up, a discussion on some dudes site, some dude saying to post in his topic, someone else asking what wheels to get, and how to clean bearings.

this topic = fail.
