piercings are fine and can look cool as hell, but gauges are just dumb.

Nah, you could get past 00g and still have the hole close up. Even if you do permanently damage your ear, theres always reconstructive surgery.

Oh ok, well Chris Barnes has plates in his ears bigger then a half dollar and without them in (at the concert in Cedar Falls, Oct. 2) he didn't have them in and when he was singing his ears shook like jello. I asked him if it hurt and he told me only when you go to a bigger size. Sucks that I didn't get a chance to meet Steve and Greg. Maybe next time when they go to the windy city.

Bingo.

How long did you have your ears pierced before you tried to gauge them?

What do people gauge their ears for?

What do people gauge their ears for?

Most people do it because they see people on TV or at school with it without knowing any actual meaning behind the piercing.

Blah, blah, blah, I know most of you kids are all "WUDDAFUX!?/1/!? L0lz, he sed p1erc3 R0FL3Z" But there are actual meanings behind different piercings.

Look it up.

I just got mine pierced last night. I don't plan on gauging them though, I'll probably just move down to a 14g and stay that way I'm at a 16 right now.

How long did you have your ears pierced before you tried to gauge them?

maybe a month i went from the original piercing to the 6 guage, was that too soon?

I think when you guys hear me talking about guaging my ears, you assume by that i mean i have huge holes in my ears
a 6 guage hole is smaller than a pen, much smaller...

I used to hide dime bags in mine.

Yeah, but that can't honestly be the motivation to gauge your ears.

You should have waited at LEAST 6 weeks to allow the piercing to fully heal.

The standard size for getting your ear pierced is about a 16 gauge, did you just jump from a 16 to a 6?

If thats the case, then no shit you had a blow out. Research things like that before doing it.

noooo,i went what i imagine was 16,it was a one time use " do it yourself" 4 dollar piercer haha, then i went to 14,14 to 10,10 to 8...8 to 6

Go to your local piercing/tattoo shop and ask them if they have healing ointment for blowouts. It's a minty smelling oil that helps heal and reduce the size of blowouts.

It also reduces ear cheese http://www.skateboard-city.com/messageboard/images/icons/icon14.gif

Now what do you mean by "a one time use do it yourself 4 dollar piercer"?

Thats what i used to pierce it,my ear appears to be healing up quite nicely, the first dat a big piece of dried up skin came off and bled, but its ok now

I would never recommend piercing yourself, unless you have the actual know-how of doing it.
And one thing i've learned with one of my bestfriends being a pro piercer/tattoo artist, piercing guns suck. It's always better to go and have it proffesionally done, or if you don't have the money for that, go out and buy sterile hollow-tipped 16G needles from a tattoo/piercing supply shop.

What are you using to clean your piercing?
