I saw this on an interveiw with a professor on NBC. I found it very smart and interesting.

************WARNING, RELIGIOUSLY CONTROVERSIAL!!****************

Professor: It's startling how suddenly god is being accepted in a modern society. To any open-minded individual, it still seems that the possibiltiy of an all controlling being so powerful was that to create himself is incredibly improbable.

Interveiwer: So I'm assuming you're an atheist.

Professor: In reality, you're in atheist. Virtually everyone on Earth is an atheist in some form. We have given up our beleif in Pagan gods. It is evenly impossible to disprove our rejected gods such as Thor and Neptune as our modern "God." What is the harm of adding another to the list. These are my beliefs.

Interviewer: You do know that you're book will be very controversial.

Professor: To be expected in a peice of literature attempting to reveal a greater truth.

Interviewer: Well, best of luck to you.

Professor: You also

"God is Dead"

You can kindof sum it up with that Nietzsche quote.

But you know a really interesting quote? "Equal men are not free, and free men are not equal." You wan't to disagree, but you can't because its in quotations, their for true.

I'm not sure, its a libetarian quote, i know that. I think it even was used my Nazi's. Isn't it odd that almost all politcal movements start off with freedom as their goal, but end up authoritarian.

Yeah...its also sad how the authority is placed there to protect freedom...

Yeah...its also sad how the authority is placed there to protect freedom...

Which im not sure how would really work. How can something protect something that is directly opposed to it.

But in conventional poltical systems, the goal is freedom but eventually builds up authority. The goal of capitalism was the freedom of the individual, but eventually led to exploitation and in some extreme cases fascism. And socialism wan't to redistibute wealth evenelly, thus creating equality. But we all know how collectivism turns out.

I honestly don't give a shit.
I get called an "illusionist" all the time because I believe in God.
I get called "the great oppressor" because of people who don't support gay marriage. I get called a ton of shit based on my belief in God.
One that makes me laugh the most is people call me "closed minded" because I believe in God, I think opening your mind and believing in a God is alot less closed minded than saying "There is no God, it's all fake" just because evolution makes sense.

As for this idiot goes, just the typical "I am a professor and went to college, therefore I can say this is no God and it's officially a proven fact!"

that was the most worthless psuedo-intellectual piece of shit i ever read

"It's startling how suddenly god is being accepted in a modern society."

Bullshit. Religion is more stigmatized nowadays than it has been throughout history. If anything, religion is being phased out of government very slowly. Where is this "sudden" burst of religious acceptance this guy is talking about? It doesn't exist.

"In reality, you're in atheist. Virtually everyone on Earth is an atheist in some form."

Possibly the single most retarded statement I've ever heard in my life.

"We have given up our beleif in Pagan gods. It is evenly impossible to disprove our rejected gods such as Thor and Neptune as our modern "God." "

a) Paganism is alive and well.
b) It is impossible to prove or disprove anything. Prove I exist. You can't.

"To be expected in a peice of literature attempting to reveal a greater truth."

Someone has an ego...20 bucks says his book will flop. Why? Because theists aren't going to buy something that questions their religion, and athiests don't need convincing.

Reality is a concept and not a necessary truth. Science can explain things, but without any more authority than Religious explanations. If our concept of reality turns out to be just a dream or a game in some higher being, then science has just as little meaning as religion.

According to this dickbag's ideas, religion can't be proved. To support his impartial attitude, he should have said that science can not be proven either, you can only follow coincedences and take them as natural laws. You can't prove the truth of science through science, it doesn't work.

Until we die, we'll never know what's really up with the universe.

Your pulling way to much out of so little. He isn't making these claims, i don't know if im reading the same thing, but i don't see where he says his opinions are absolute truth and everyone else is wrong. I don't see where he wrote that, infact almost everyone here misinterpreted his statments.

To be fair he said "reveal a greater truth", but he also said "These are my beliefs". So he is only revealing his own subjective truth, because an absolute truth cannot exist.

And i don't think people are out of line for questioning established beliefs and moralities. Infact i recommend it.
