Ok so this is a forum to give description/opinions of technology in decks that are out now. Just talk about ones youve had, or give a description of ones that have been asked about.
The only 'special' deck ive had is an Element Featherlight. In my opinion, it really is lighter than someothers, but breaks a wee bit easier and has less pop than some stiffer/heavier decks like habitats.
My friend had a Popwar Slick Drops deck. It has little circles of wax built into the nose and tail. He said it was a wee bit gimmicky and only helped a little bit, but the rest of the deck was great.
Ive also had slip-tape, some guy in ohio came to my shop trying to sell it. Its this plastic-looking layer of polymer you apply to the graphic of your board just like grip tape. Its s opposed to help with slides and improve deck strength. It didnt seem to help with slides, but i put it on my enjoi and it was a very strong deck, never totally snapped, but i think it reduced pop, although the model i had had a low tail anyways. In my opinion, not worth the 15 bucks he wanted to charge for it(i got it free).
Im curious to hear about the Element Heliums, Almost Resin decks, Popwar Drop-techs, and the new darkstar thing.

almost resin does work, its a lot stronger with good pop. but it is heavier than the normal glue deck. and darkstar is the same thing as almost, so expect the same thing.

The Helium (Element) works, but it is only a little lighter than your average deck. It wasnt worth what it cost (in my opinion) cause it lost pop quickly (i dunno how it "loses pop" but it seemed to not pop as well around the 5th month, its on its 8th right now)
So, yeah....
its not the best thing ever.

i think AWS Xband does a good job... it does make it last a little longer in my opinion.

the darkstar armor lights are incredible great pop, u need an elephant to break it, and the concave is amazing, it just chips easy with low trucks, if u got mids it chips and gets razor tail a lil less.

Wrong.
Almost Resin Epoxy Construction boards are not heavier. the point of Resin Glue is to reduce weight and strengthin the board more than the standard water-based glue. Darkstar ArmorLights are pieces of shit... literally. They arn't strong, the only thing that makes them light is they are small as hell.
Darkstar ArmorPly boards have a layer of fibre glass in the middle making it strong than normal but also adding weight. The fibre glass doesnt break but it does bend. It bends alot after like 1 month of skating. then the pop is gone an the board is a load of crap.
Popwar Slick Drops, with the built in wax circles. they are junk, the wax circles literally fall off.
fair enough

I had a darkstar 9-ply resin epoxy deck, about a year ago. so far its been one of my favorite decks. It lasted me about a month and a half, which is really long for me. The glue was great, i had no chips, and there was no razor tail. I would definitely recommend trying them.
