ok so heres what i want to do i want to cut out my body in this picture and make the background totally black then add words any one know how to do this is this the right forum

To cut yourself out you can use the magic wand maybe. Or you can do it freehand with the lasso tool, this is the only way I know how. To make the background black, go to the background layer, Edit>>Fill>>Black>>OK. As for the words, there's a text tool.

thanks but after i use the magic wand to cut it or lasso what do i do to make the cut? i know how to do everything else and did you take that pic in your sig its cool i like it a lot

why dont you just cut your head out and than make a new picture thats all black and just put your head on that haha

To cut better you could try using Filter > Extract. There's many ways to do it, But I persoanlly like that the best.
Just outline what you want to cut out with the brush, then use the fill tool to fill the area you want to save and click ok.
