what your favorite method? i personaly like using modes. that way i can set a specific tone without much thinking.

most people i know like using the penatonic caged system, but i find that boring.

im not that good at soloing yet. I what i do is, i can visualize all the notes in the scale on the neck so i play the notes in that scale. But like i said im still not that good at.

I don't understand the "modes" and stuff that everyone talks about, I just fuckin shred and be as creative as possible.

modes are just variations of the major scale. one sounds jazzy, one bluesy, one countryish, one spanishy, and one that evil sounding. theyre really helpful once you understand them all.

Dorian is probably my favorite, using the Minor Scale w/ Sixes pattern. Do some nice funk with it.

Hmm. I'd like to find out more about those. I play guitar but its all self taught, so I dont know any terminology. When I solo, its pretty much darting around the scale, whatever comes.

i use pentatonic but i play off the chords and add notes that are not in the scale to add a more blues/jazz sound. you can use the penta scale as a guide you can hit other notes you just gotta play around to see what sounds good with the song

I sort of play improv rhythm on the higher strings, and distort it alot with fuzz, and maybe add something else trippy.
