Could anybody reccomend me a pretty good camera for under a grand ( canadian? I've been thinking of either this http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10061574&catid=11719&logon=&langid=EN#
or this http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10056499&catid=11719&logon=&langid=EN
But could anybody tell me things to look for? I'm not completely new, I've been shooting with a 35 mm, but I'd like to move on to a digital.
Any ideas for a camera plus lens or any other accesories I'd need?

Out fo the two choices you have there, I'd go with the Canon (personal tastes and the multitude of accessories), for lenses, I'd at least get a .3 and a .43 arpeture (semi fisheye and wide angle). I wouldn't invest in a really expensive lense, stick with Kenko or Raynox for now... if you were going with Digital SLR I'd suggest differently, but for now, an inexpensive (but quality) lense should be just fine... you can probably get each for $100 or cheaper.
ANother investment you might want to tray is a tripod, and you'll definately need either a case or camera bag for your gear.

Sorry to bump this up, but I've been thinking about a nikon D50? Would that be a pretty good camera? ( probably a stupid question, it's an SLR) my reasoning is, I'm probably not goign to be buying another camera for a while so I want this to be good, and not get a shitty first one.

If you're going to buy a D50 for a first camera, it's a good choice. The good thing about it is, it has all auto functions, as well as fully manual functions, so you can start using auto and then slowly become familiar with manual functions.
Check Cameta Camera, they're an ebay powerseller, thats where I bought both my D70s and D50 (when I had the D50, that is).

It's goignt o take me awhile to save up, I'll have it by next spring, I don't suck at taking pictures, but I'm below average ( compared to you guys ( well most) and SP. If I got a semi good camera, once I get better, I wouldn't want to rush out and spen more money on a new camera, I'd rater spend a good chunk of money to begin with, then not have to go out and do that again for a while. This is probably a stupid question, but can I add on diffrent lenses, for example a fisheye ( you can put then on digital cameras right)?

The only full frame fisheye for the D50 is the Nikkor 10.5mm f2.8...which runs for about $500.
You can get the Peleng or Sigma fisheyes, which are of considerably lower quality, though.

A good photographer can make good pictures with any camera ,but and SLR can help greatly with skate photos because they can stop action. other digital cameras take so long to take a picture that they are not good for action
