caulking chips and cracks

will caulking chips and small cracks help the deck longer??? cause i just tried it and i got to wait til it dries and i dont know if it will help or anything so will it hold up...oh and will caulking the tail prevent razor tail??

i did it doesnt work for long and for the guy above me yeah i know about it i cant find it so i used caulk because when it dries it like plugs up cracks and holes and stuff like that plus i have extra caulk so i think im good for a while
