This thread is for lovers of Classic, Folk, 60's, 70's rock. What modern bands do you consider to be good?

Mine would be: White Stripes, Wolfmother, and THe Strokes.

Most the bands i listen to are either from the late 60s, 70s, and 80s, but some of modern bands i like are, Lost Prophets, Shinedown, QOTSA, Dropkick Murphys, Bad Beligion( although there more 80s), Anti-Flag, Foo Fighters.

I also like a few white stripes songs, and the strokes.

There are many good new bands, but it pisses me off, because very few of them seem to be, what you would call "great", such as bands like the beatles and rolling stones...
Nearly all of the bands now are just fads, emo, hardcore, pop punk, none of them will live on as legends, in my opinion. I can't wait to see the next "great" band, that really innovates music...

You know what Ive heard of CoB since last year when I heard "Are You Dead Yet?" I just forgot who sung that song, it was okay.

But new bands (well Im not one to know if they are new or not)

There's tons and tons of good indie around now, even though I'm more of a '90's ska/jangle pop man myself.

Belle and Sebastian
Apollo Sunshine
Luna
Arcade Fire
Ima Robot
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Bright Eyes
Metric
Irving
The Unicorns
Interpol
Of Montreal

Anyone who says new music is either closed minded or too lazy to look.

I think that Are You Dead Yet is an inaccurate representation of the band as a whole. If you want to hear what Children of Bodom's music in general is like, see their Tuska 2003 performance on Google Video.
