Whats with this New messageboard? [Archive]

Hey!

Ok, first off I apolygize for making you guys get used to this new software, its pretty frustrating, I totally understand that, even I have some frustrations. But you guys need to know that this is what's best for the site.

This forum software, called Vbulletin is the best software there is. Xmb (our old board) was nice, I know all you guys loved it, including me, but it had to go since it was not able to keep up with the demands of having 200members on at one time.

I got many complaints about Skateboard-City.com going down or slowing down, this was due to XMB and won't happe anymore.

Vbulletin is known to work perfectly fine with over 1000 members on at once and over 3million posts!

I cost us $160 to get this software because its all privately developed by professionals. Xmb is FREE, but its quality is much worse, which is the reason we had to switch.

So I apolygize for the mess, hopefully you guys will enjoy all the new gadgets and features this board has, along with its speed and stability.

Use this forum to ask and answer questions about this new Vbulletin message board...

This is the only VBulletin site that has been confusing to me. I do know they have alot of features to add. Alot of sites I went to got shut down because the money got to expensive. Hopefully it wonn't happen here.

No worries, these messageboard are perfectly stable financially.

And yes, its even confusing me, I currently think the theme looks ugly (cant figure out how to change purple borders..etc)

Even I have to learn how to work this!

theres sigs, theres a ton of things ive yet to figure out too, beleive me, this admin control panel has got more crazy things then Apollo 13 or any aircraft... sorry if theres no sigs or avatars right now or something, its all here.. in good time it will all work

top right hand corner of the page, it says "welcome, name" adn then under that it says "private messages" that's it.

I'm really glad you guys made the switch to VB. It can be confusing at first, but everyone will learn to love it.

The only thing I'd wish for you guys to consider changing is having all the names and post info to the left like the old forum, instead of above the post like it is now.

Inside of a thread you can click on Thread Tools at the top and click subscribe to this thread, and then a list will be generated. If thats what you mean.

Ok, so i played around with the settings for a bit, got it to match the rest of the sites layout (with the darkgray with lines background and darkred-red + white text...etc)

I think it looks a lot more friendly now, ill try to get a few themes for you guys soon enough so you can use what you like, just like the old board...

You should clear message boards cept stickies and restart ppls number of posts and stuff then It'll be brand new and easier to adjust to so can we think about that a lil -not forcing full emotion while saying-

Speed difference? What speed difference? I have no idea what Tom is talking about. The site going down? Alot of complaints? I've seen 100's of people saying the site was going down, and complaining because of the posts that were being made, and some of the "gay" actions the mods took. But I havn't heard any complaints about how SBC was slowing down. There's not even a speed difference.
