This was just to help clean up the trick tips a little bit. First are some rules:
1. Do not ask for help in this forum.
2. Do not post shitty guides or worthless topics.
These are extremely easy to follow, yet most people don't. If you want help, post it in the general trick talk forum or look in this thread for guides.
These are just a few guides, please if you have another that you think is helpful enough to be up here, PM me or another mod that posts in this thread. We'd hope to gather a nice little archive of good guides. Now, on to what you've been waiting for...
P.S.- I'm not claiming any props from these guy's work. I did not write these guides, I merely put them together into one thread.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is Sora1421's guide to 180's:
Ok this is a guide for The ollie 180's f/s and b/s. I will cover F/S first since it is easier, followed by B/S. I will try my best to make a good guide for them.
Ok lets go!
F/S 180
Feet Placement
Back foot: Ok well the feet placement for these can vary, some people do them with the ball of their foot on the back corner, while others do them in ollie position. I suggest you put it a little more back than an ollie when you first start, then as you get more familiar with them put them in the ollie position for a better pop and more height. But which ever way you choose will work.
Front Foot: The Front foot also vary's from person to person. You and you are looking foard can either have your toes hanging off a bit, or have them in ollie position. Just like the back, either will work but i suggest having your toes hanging off a little bit to get used to the spin, since it spins better. The best way to do these would still probably be in the ollie. Also when people learn these you can move your front foot close to the bolts
Executing the trick
Ok first you should be rolling at a decent speed; not to fast but not too slow. These should NEVER be learned stationary. Do you see that ill underline it NEVER! You shouldnt really learn tricks stationary to begin with let alone anytricks with a 180 in them. For the simple reason that they are harder.
As you are rolling at a pretty good speed wind your shoulders up the oposite direction a good bit. Unwind them and when they become parallel and you are looking forward; pop the 180 and drag your front foot up. When it rotates about 90 from that; you want to use your feet and basicly twist them the rest of the way. What im trying to say is just use your feet and twist, the uper body isnt really needed to spin any more. As you are about to land put weight on the front foot so you dont fall back. Roll away clean
Troubleshooting
#1 I can't spin the whole 180. Help!!!!
This is of course probably the first problem you will have. You probably are not twisting your feet the rest of the way. The winding of the body is only half the trick. You have to just use your feet to push and guide the rest of the way. It's hard to explain but i tried. Practice it
#2 I get the whole 180 but i land in a switch manual(on your back foot after the 180)
Ok this was the biggest problem i had. It was very annoying and made me not try these for a while. What you are probably doing wrong is trying to scoop the 180 to much and leaning back. Stand directly over the board and your about to pop. Dont twist and lean back, twist and stay centerd. Also as your twisting the rest of the way dont lean back either. Finally when your about to land try to put more weight on the front truck.
well i think that's it for f/s
Ok Now for B/S. It is probably a little harder becuase you can't see where your spinning and you have to land backwards rolling in the opposite direction. I suggest you learn f/s first though since they are easier. Now some people learn b/s first and thats fine too. it's whatever you choose
Ok B/S time!
B/S 180
Feet Placement
Front foot:Ok front foot the best place is probabaly pretty much exact same place as you do an ollie..maybe a little closer to the bolts than your ollie but thats it. You can experiment but i don't know anyone who does them any other place. If anything maybe toes even with the edge.
Back foot: Ok the back foot can vary too. You can have your back foot on the the edge on the tail to give it more of a scoop to spin. Although these look a little sloppy compared to the other way. To do them the right way you should have your back foot in the same place as an ollie as well.
Executing the Trick
Ok im going to tell you the right way but you can scoop with your back foot at first to learn them.
Roll at a decent speed first, just like f/s not to fast at first but never stationary. When your feet are ready, twist your upper body the oposite way and unwind. When your shoulders are parallel to the board pop an ollie and drag your front foot up. Once you get about 90 degrees use your back foot to spin the rest of the way and guide it around. Have your weight centerd becuase when you land your going to be rolling backwards.
Troubleshooting
#1 I can't spin the whole 180....GRRR
Yep this is the hardest thing for B/S 180's. Make sure you are rotating your upper body good. And using your back foot to spin the rest of the way around. Also maybe learn how to scoop the back foot first, it will give you the motion you need to try them the right way. It may be a little hard but keep practicing.
I can;t really thing of any other major problems, becuase if you get the full 180 on the b/s's you shoould roll away pretty clean. The only other problem is you might be leaning forward and the board goes behind you when you land. Just remember to keep centerd on the board since your landing backwards.
well that's it i hope this helps, Gp out there and practice practice practice. These arent all that hard to lean but can be frustrating.
remember rate up's are always nice :P

(1000th Post.)
This is maudamaster's guide to the ollie:
Sorry for the weird order.
This in-depth guide will teach you everything about a ollie, one of the first tricks you will ever learn, and one of the tricks which you will keep improving. This guide will teach you about it, from the history, to the actual trick. Learn the terms in the glossary
The History
The Ollie was invented by Alan Ollie Gelfand in 1978. The highest ollie ever done that was actually recorded was by Jose Marabotto (From Hardlife). It was 50 inches. Here is a link(Thanks to Hardlife) The highest ollie
The Position
The first thing to talk about when olling is position. This is a good position when olling.( :: F ::B) If you just started you should
have your front foot like 4 milimeters closer to the nose. Get a feel for a position that is comfortable. You should bend your knees very low like you’re squatting.
How to do the ollie
1. The number one step for the ollie is get the positioning down. Look at the positioning topic above.
2. Push the tail down with your back foot and lift it as quickily as you can (The Pop). You should jump alittle bit to get more air.
3. While you are jumping slide your front foot on the side. (Left foot slides on left side and so on.) Slide all the way to the bolts. The the contact between the foot and the nose should bring the tail up by a lot.
4. Bend your knees for the land. Both feet should be on or close to the bolts.
5. Now ride away and feel like a pro.
Learned the ollie? Try these tips
1. When popping the board jump and suck your knees up as much as you can. The pros can suck their legs up all the way to their chests for high ollies.
2. Pop really hard and jump, the jump will drag the board up if you popped very high.
3. Try other variations of the ollie including the ollie north (Position your front foot more to the nose and ollie as regular. Your front foot should come off the board), the ollie body varial (Ollie and then jump off the board spinning 180 on the air), and the ollie 180 (Put your back foot on the edge and ollie but spin around 180 degrees. There are more like the ollie to manual.
4. Practice olling over, onto, or off stuff if you are really good.
5. And lastly try practicing shifty ollies (Ollie and jump forward or backward). This will help you a lot when doing 50-50s.
Tips if you are doing not so well
1. If the board is flipping over, try placing your front foot alittle bit more front side
2. If the tail is not coming up (which is called a rocket ollie), try practicing dragging. When popping, pull your back foot up as quickly as you can like touching a stove.
3. If you land on the nose and slip, try placing your front foot alittle more closer towards the tail.
Glossary
1. THE POP: The most important part of the ollie. This determines how high your ollie is. The better pop you have the better ollie you will have. The pop requires your back foot snapping up right after you hit the tail. You will have to jump and lift your back foot to clear the tail from hitting your foot.
2. THE DRAG: The second most important part of the ollie. Dragging makes the board level out. Dragging is probably the hardest part to learn of an ollie. Many beginners are doing rocket ollies (see number 4 in glossary). You gotta lift your back foot right after the pop for your drag to do anything. The drag has to slide on the side of your shoes which will be damaged! If you are dragging all the way until the nose you are not dragging on the side of your foot! Don’t be afraid and you will get it! I promise!
3. Ollie: This is the Fking trick we’ve been talking about the whole time! It is the jump of the skateboard. Finally you can get some air off flat ground! Just read the Fkin’ article and learn all about the ollie.
4. Rocket Ollie: This is the bad ollie you don’t want to ever meet. Very VERY Common among every single beginner. This is the ollie when your nose flies up but your tail raises like 1 inch off the ground. Correct it by DRAGGING And SNAPPING YOUR LEG UP WHEN YOU POP!!
OK THAT’S about it! Ask me any questions. If this guide helped you please give me some rep points. Thanks!

Here is Choizy's guide to kickflips:
How To Kickflip
Having trouble learning to spin that pesky board? Well hopefully this guide can help
How to Kickflip
1 - First you first need to know the basics. Make sure your able to ollie consistently and it helps if you can ollie about 2-3 decks at least. Also if you learned other basic moves such as pop shove-its and 180s it would help your balance and timing of this difficult trick
2 - To start off, make sure you do this trick moving. Although there are a few people who prefer to do tricks while doing it still. I don’t prefer this method because then it makes you rely on staying still making you a little hesitant when you do start learning it moving. So its best if you just start off moving. Make sure its not too fast but not too slow either, make it smooth and flowing and be sure your comfortable
3 - put your back foot like a regular ollie. Also DO NOT put your foot on the edge of the board. Some people say it helps the pop and flip. But that just screws up your balance and will mess up your flick. So just put your foot AROUND the edge of the board and make sure your feet are balance and comfy because that’s the main part. Now put your front foot about 2-3 inches behind the front bolts. Not on the middle because it’s a bit uncomfy and you need more strength in your flip which may screw you up when your just starting to learn it. Now put your front foot 45 degrees so it makes the flick easier and more accurate
4 - Now comes the action, make sure you pop the board hard so your can get a better drag. So then not only makes your kickflip higher, but it also gives you more time to spin the board which is crucial. Everything should be going like a ollie. Now comes the hard part. You need to drag the front foot up as usual. BUT you don’t just stop at the bolts, your need to go off the corner of the board where the concave of the nose goes upward. Then this is where the 45 angled foot comes in handy, need to FLICK the board with your foot and not your whole leg. This is where people mess up. DO NOT USE YOUR WHOLE LEG!!!! Or this will mess up your kick flip and you will just overshoot it and thus, screwing up the whole thing. Just with a little power with your ankle, flick your foot out to spin it. I cannot stress this enough, trust me you don’t need a lot of strength for this, just a little flick can do it
5 - Now it should be spinning. Pull your front foot back and make sure it doesn’t collide with the board. Your back foot is just hanging there waiting for the land. Just wait for the spin to finish and BAM! Slam your feet down to land. The landing should come with instinct and not timing.
6 - Congratulations! You made your first kickflip (in your mind), now just make sure you pop and drag higher to make that kick flip even more sexy! Good luck
My Troubleshooting
Rocket flip - Is your board shooting 4 feet ahead of you?. This is pretty hard to fix if you get into a habit. The problem is that you flicking with your whole leg. Which overpowers the board and your not aiming for the spin. Your basically just ninja kicking that shit. Which is not good. So just make sure you just use your ankle power to flick it. And make sure you flick at the corner and not just the side
Hip Twisting - I had this habit. This is a very difficult habit to get rid off. The reason is because your using your leg to spin the board. But like before, flick with your ankle. But I know this isn’t as easy like that. You might be trying to flick but the concave of the board makes your foot follow it and thus your foot spins to the side. The solution is that when your do flick, make sure you don’t just drag to flip the board. Make sure you actually use your ankle to flick it. Or else your foot will just miss the flick and move to the side. So just make sure you flick the nose of the board then come back for the catch. Some ways to help you is to put your hands on your hips and try to do it. Kind of uncomfortable but it does help. Also you can imagine yourself in a tight wall. All sides are squeezing you tight. So your wont be able to twist your hips. Good luck
(P.S. If your only landing with one foot, this is your problem)
Mob flipping - Okay so you are sometimes landing that kick flip, but its ugly as hell and its not balanced out? The answer is simple. Your not flicking, your pushing. You could be just pushing down with your foot not flick nor dragging, just pushing down at the side making it inaccurate and ugly. don’t do the easy way out and make sure you flick and drag!
Well thats all i have to say. if there is any other troubles your having, please ask and ill try to update as soon as possible. good luck!!!
As i promised, i updated the troubleshooting thanks to Marevix. Here they are!
Inconsistant Flicking - Well this isnt exactly a "problem". Think of it as a manual, you dont have a actual "technique" to learn the trick. But you just practise it and you later get more experinced at it and its more consistant. So the moral is just practise and the more consistant will be your award
Board Turning Sideways - Well you got the flicking part right, but the problem is that your flicking to hard. This is why a gentle tap will spin the board. So just give a little ankle strength and that will do it
Board Behind You - This is because you are lazy, haha sorry but you are just dragging and you are leaving it at that. You try to flick the board but it is too late haha. So what you do is dont be lazy, concentrate and spin that mofo!
Sora1421's Troubleshooting
Flipping Problems
1. Board wont flip.
You have to kind of act like your curling up your toes at the end of the board and when u flick dont just flick out flick up and out. Alot of people when they try kickflips just take there foot and slide it off, but this is not the answer. I tell my people who i meet who cant kickflips to act as though they curl their toes up at the end because it kind of makes you learn the motion even though this doesnt help.
2.Board does a Rocket KickFlip
When the board flys directly up and does not leave the ground but does spin. This is very easy to fix with practice the problem is when your kicking your not moving your foot up and out your just going out not giving it the drag basicly to get up as if in an ollie.
3. Board gets off ground does nosedive(Board may or may not spin)
Ok this one is a bitch to try and fix for people who learn their kickflips wrong like this. The problem is that the people either do not flick the board at the end of the board. Or that after they flick they keep their foot their cause it to try to flip but hitting your back heel. Have a friend watch you or video tape and see where you are flicking off. You want to flick on the concave by the nose pretty much right around the bolt somewhere(depends on where you position your front foot for the flip)Then practice as you do your flick try and bring it out and up a bit more. Just practice not doing it for that one.
4.Board Does not flip but just goes flying way ahead of you.
This is kind of like problem #3 but when you drag and flick the person thinks he needs to drag super hard and flick with his whole foot. Alot of times the persons front foot flys with the board. Drag lighter and just only power to your toes, the ball of your foot actually. Not your whole foot. Also this problem could be happening becuase the person is trying to get their toes on the side of board a lot if your new to kickflips and their back foot toes at very edge so they loose balance and when they pop they lean back to much and their front foot pushes it away. Try to stay above the board at all times.
5.Board goes partialy Varial
Omg this is annoying to try and troubleshoot becuase theirs so many things that could cause this. 1.)Person may have back toes hanging off the edge causing it to scoop into a varial. 2.) Persons back foot may be pushing back towards such as a pop shove it. People tend to do this after learning pop shove-its. 3.) Front foot may be 45 degrees, try and keep it as straight as possible. 4.) Your body may not be straight when u try and flip try to keep your shoulders from moving much and keep them straight.
6.) Board does half flip
O man almost forgot bout this one. This is very simple you are not flicking hard enough or still have not grasped the whole flick out and up thing. I can get double just about when i really try and flick hard but i just flick normally and stomp what is used to me. Practice the whole flicking out and up motion the problem could be you got the whole placing but your flicks could be not flicking up enough.Just practice is all i can say for this one.
Landing
Ok here we go the part most people have trouble with. Theres probbably problems people have that ive never heard of so if theres one thats on here tell me and i will edit this and explain to the best of my knowledge.
1.Board Flips and lands behind the person.
I do this when i loose my balance and fall forward a bit and try to flick while leaning forward. So try to stay directly up above the board. This is basicly cause by either leaning forward to much.Your head should not be past your front bolt. Keep your head straight and dont slant it.
2.Board land to much left or right.
Now usually people's kicks usually land in front of them them to the left or right(to the side more of where it should land) cause you to get only one foot on or miss completley. You can either try and get up more over the board becuase the place your foot has to be for flips makes you lean to the side of your foot a bit. Or you can try and jump for to it. But I would suggest you try and get more up over becuase it looks cleaner when it hovers and doesnt move. Now if the board flips under you (which is rare) your leaning WAY to much the other way.
3.Board lands infront of person.
Once again its the same problem as #4 in the flipping section excet this time it flips and your not leanign back as much. People still tend to loose their balance as they pop becuase their not used to the positioning of the front foot. So try and move your back foot up a tad onto the board untill u get better balance. Trying to get the best pop cant hurt your kickflips for now. Or you might have good balance and just are leaning back still too much. Just concentrate being straight and kick.
4.Can only get one foot on it either front of back
Ok here is where people really have a lot of trouble and people dont usually respond to these as much becuase their hard to answer. The real problem is you could not be comiting if your moving or your not trying to catch the board, your hoping that it will flip and when u land it will be right there under your feet like magic. NO! practice catching your board and looking at your feet. when you see that grip tape stomp on your board and dont be scared. Or you are not sucking your front foot in your flicking out but not up. Flick out and Up! Out and Up!! Then suck your front foot back into you. If you flick where your suposed to and dont move your front foot your either gonna land on the nose or youll miss it completley with the front foot. Suck your foot back into you rather than just up from where u flick.
5.board flips but lands before you do (cannot get feet up in the air after flicking.)
You need to flick out and up with the ball of your foot. As you flick you want to suck up your feet in to you. If you flick down and out its alot harder to get your foot all the way up and ready to slam
this is by Sora and not me. Just to clear this up , I remember this guide way back in the summer days. So props to him

Here are Sora1421's guides to backside and frontside flips:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Backside Flips:
This is a guide on B/S flips(duh) it's basicly a guide to either give you an idea on how to do them so you can find what works best. or you can do them the way i will describe, either one is still a B/S flip
before you do these you shold have b/s 180s really good and kickflips pretty good. Also varial flips help alot
Feet Placement
Place your back foot in the same place you normally would a varial..which is about the same as a pop shove it. You may want to have it a little farther up if you want.
Your front foot should be in the same place as you would have them for a kickflip. you might want it turned 45 degrees like a varial. see which one works best for you.
Executing the Flip
As you set up for the trick wind your body the oposite way and start spinning. As your spin evens out like normal start your pop. Pop a partial varial about 100 degrees or so. You could also do it an easier way and try to pop the whole 180 and kickflip and land. Though this way looks much better. May take longer but trust me all the pros do them like this. Anyway like i said spin pop a high clean 90-100 degree varial kick and try to catch it with your back foot and guide it the rest of the 180 while putting yuor front foot on. As your ready to land put weight on yuor back foot since you will now be backwards and rolling backwards too. If you dont you will land leaned over and the board will shoot out. You want to try to watch the board flip under you and catch them in the air
Troubleshooting
I can't seem to get the whole flip or spin the rest of the way. Please help!!
Most people shouldnt have much problem with the spin and flip really. But if so then i suggest you go to varials and get the spin and land them a few times since the flip and spin are easiest part...its just keeping them under you.
I Can't seem to keep the board under me when i do the trick. Any ideas?
We'll this is probably one of more complicated problems if you try to do them the pro way. I suggest you have really nice b/s 180's of coarse but it isnt completley needed. As your poping make sure to rotate your shoulders. Do not try to flick really hard or anything. the flip should come pretty easy. Alot of people try to kick hard and they send it away. Keep trying is all i can say. If you just want to be able to do them these can be pretty easy, but if you want them to look nice it takes time to perfect this trick.
Hope this helps.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frontside Flips:
Ok people i recently learned these and thought i would try and help
Feet Placement
Back Foot: Very edge of the tail. you want the ball of your foot just on the board when you do these. Nothing else really
Front Foot: Same place as a kickflip; maybe a little more of your heel off than usual. This helps it flip a little better as well as get your foot set up a little better to get back on the board.
Executing the Trick
Start at a decent speed, not to fast but never stationary. never do these stationary becuase for one, you shouldnt learn tricks stationary. And two- THEY ARE HARDER STATIONARY!! Lets get that straight since most people like to learn tricks not moving, well this one is actually harder when your not rolling at a decent speed
Next as your about to pop the trick twist your top body about 90 degrese so you are looking forward.
Make sure you are completley centerd over the board. You do not need to be leaned back or in any crazy postion..trust me this doesnt work.
When you start the pop, pop hard on the very tail and let the board spin maybe 30 degrese or so f/s then drag your front foot HARD and kickflip about right under the concave. Drag a good bit harder than you normaly would for a regular kickflip if you want these to spin right.
Watch it spin under you and when you see the griptape try to slam down fast. Just Keep practing..these really only took me 5 days to learn
This is a short little movie that you can watch SeanB do some fs flips on. It's at a very good angle so you'll be able to see how he does them.
http://skatetek.net/v8up/files/62/fsflippin.mov
As stated SeanB the moderator is the ones doing the flips in here NOT ME..since i don't have a camera
Troubleshooting
Q:I can't get my board to spin the full 180 f/s. How do i make it go more??
A: Practice making your kickflips go 90 deg. f/s and learn to land on them first. Then when you got those kind of good have your back foot on the very edge of the tail and pop hard and fast. Also make sure you are dragging your kickflips still off the board and not straight up. Becuase spinning inward might throw you off. Also you dont have to be able to spin the full 180 in the initial flick. You can be cool like andrew reynolds and spin it 90 or more and catch it and spin it the rest of the way with your feet.
Q:The board always spins straightup and down and it goes in front of me alot. Help!!!
A: This was my main problem at first. You are trying to lean back way to much. You do NOT have to lean back at all, all this does it make the board do exactly that, shoot out from under you. Also drag alot harder with your front foot when you kickflip.
I hope this helps and remember practice makes perfect. This trick looks very nice.
If it helps a rate up couldn't hurt :P

Here is d_n_b_and_d_u_b's guide to skateboarding itself:
You're going to have those days that just suck and those days that are just good. For those days that suck royaly remind yourself that you have to make the best out of that day and keep on keeping on.
Everyone has those days, everyone (even pro's!) so i've decided to share a link with you all, hopefully you'll use it to your advantage.
I've carried these quotes with me whenever i've gone skating and just when i want to give up, i read the quotes and am reminded that if i really want something, i must not give up on it and keep working at it.
Maybe it's the same for you, maybe it's different. Either way, hope this site will motivate you in the toughest of times..whatever those times may be.

Here is rock-adio's guide to heelflips:
Heelflips:
Foot placement:
Front Foot- I like to put my front foot just a little behind the front bolts, with my toes hanging off some.
Back Foot- Back foot should be in the middle of the tail or a little bit towards the edge how ever you feel most comfortable.
Executing The Trick:
I like to have a fair amount of speed while doing this trick.
1.Set your feet up in the right position.
2.Pop the tail while sliding your front foot up the board.
3.Your going to want your front foot to flick the edge of the nose right about where the concave hits the nose.
4.Suck up your legs high while the board is spinning.
5.Look for the grip tape to come around. Then place your feet back onto the grip tape.
6.Land the trick and roll away clean.
Alot of problems people have with this is not getting the full rotation. To fix this just flick your heel off the nose harder until you find the board flips good for you.
Another problem is the board landing before you I know I had this problem quite abit. To solve this just suck your legs up more and allow more time for the board to spin.
This trick may take alot of pratice but i hope this guide will help you master the heelflip.
Good Luck and happy skateboard.

Here is zero sk8er247's guide to 360 Flips:
*Setup*
To set up, have your front foot in the middle of the board angled at 45-50 degrees. Also, have your front foot lined up with the top bolts/ have atleast the ball of your foot on the board. Your back foot should be at the edge of the tail so the toe part of your shoe hangs off, but not the ball of your foot.
*Execution*
To execute this trick, scoop your board with your back foot backwards fast, and try to kick your butt with the heel of your foot (don't actually do it). As your doing this, have your back straight up, and maybe lean back a little. The board should now be flipping a tre flip.
*Landing*
To land a tre flip, you should study where it lands until you got it. Then jump right at the board. Aim your feet for the bolts. Also, this takes some guts to land. Dont be scared, and with both feet at the same time.
*Troubleshooting*
Problem 1 = The board only spins a 180-270 shuvit.
Solution 1 = Scoop faster/ scoop more to your butt.
Problem 2 = The board does more than a 360 shuvit.
Solution 2 = Scoop slower/ scoop less to your butt.
Problem 3 = The board doesnt flip a full kickflip.
Solution 3 = Point your foot and toes towards the ground. It may feel unconfortable, but it helps a lot. If it still doesn't work, scoop faster. If it STILL doesn't work, then flick like a regular kickflip, still scooping fast.
Problem 4 = The board flies to the right side of me (left side if goofy).
Solution 4 = Just practice, and keep your back straight, maybe even lean backward. And for this, work on your scoop, and make sure your scooping right. Also, try jumping with the board.
Problem 5 = I only land with one foot.
Solution 5 = Your probably scared of landing. Remember to jump with both feet at the same time, landing at the same time, landing in line to each other. The other solution to this one is to jump more with the board.
Problem 6 = I land in nollie position/ My back foot lands near the front bolts, and my feet are in line.
Solution 6 = Study more of where the board lands, and jump there, feet aiming for the bolts.
Remember, "It's all in your back foot" says Stefan.

Could anyone explain what he means by pointing your foot and toes towards the ground? Like after you flick, of while setting up your feet? Im confused.
