Do you mean Death From Above 1979, or is there another band going by D.F.A.?

No, I mean Destined For Assimilation. I think that's what it stands for anyways

They are POPular in mainstream culture. I think it's a fact

Umm, ok, get techinical. We all know pop is a genre in this instance.

Also, they are not that popular in mainstream.

To me the term pop means something that has a price tag on it, not something that sounds mellow and apeals to teenage girls. Also to me anyhone who gets played on much music, MTV, etc is popular in mainstream culture

Where did you get that I'm trying? I simply don't listen to mainstream music, it's not that hard

I don't know what's up with death from above now, but I saw them in the ottobar when nobody knew who the hell they were. They seemed cool then. I'll look at the band you showed later, no time now.

I remember when they were just Death From Above... I miss that. Death From Above 1979 is too long to say.

I still don't think they're a part of mainstream culture though. I've never seen them on television, except for on an episode of Subterranean... Which is like the opposite of mainstream. And I still haven't met anybody in person that's heard of them.

I know more people that have heard of Ted Leo than Death From Above 1979, and Ted's like the biggest artist out there that's against mainstream.

I know it's not that hard. I like local bands, but I also like some mainstream music. I think you just don't give them a chance.

First, Death From Above 1979 is preppy? I don't know when the hell that happened, but I missed it.

Second, IT'S MUSIC! Who cares who else listens to it? If you like the band, listen to it. What the hell does it matter that "preppy" girls like it or whatnot. It's not about that. It's just fucking music!
