I attempted at a striped griptape design, but i failed miserably :-|

It sucks.

here it is, it's the board on the bottom (obviously).
dont mind the other boards, i had to get them all for a school paper that i am working on as i type this.

Notice that some of the strips are almost touching, while some are spread far apart.

Well done, you have successfully trashed a perfectly good sheet of grip :D

Cut the grip with a straight edge before you put it on next time. It will make it look better, but not near perfect or anything like the Tony Hawk games. Usually, 4 stripes is the most you can do while still making it look good. Personally, that's too much effort to put on a board that lasts a week, so I just spray paint shit.

Did you do that? Get two sheets of griptape and weave them?
Jesus how long did that take.

To make this grip, you will need:
A stanley knife
Two sheets of grip, different colours
Two chairs, not made of material. Wood or plastic is best.
Cardboard 1. Take your first sheet of grip, and mark out strips of 1 inch width (vertical). Cut along these lines with the stanley knife (using the cardboard to limit damage to your carpets). You will end up with 9 strips.

2. Take the second sheet of grip, and mark out 1 inch strips (horizontal). Cut along these lines with the stanley knife (using the cardboard to limit damage to your carpets). You will end up with roughly 30 strips.

3. Ok, heres the hard part. Use your chairs, and face them opposite each other. Take your long strips, remove the backing, and stick them to each chair (just the ends of the strips, about 5 mm worth). Do this with all your strips, so you have a hammock style contraption. Make sure the gaps between the strips isn't too big. By sliding one or both of the chairs, you can make the "hammock" either slack or tight.

4. Slacken the hammock, and now weave the small horizontal strips in and out of the vertical strips. Remember to remove the backing before you weave! Every 5 strips, adjust so it's all tight.

5. After weaving all the strips in, tighten the hammock. Now, get your new deck, and place it under the grip weave. Press the deck up, and the grip down. Even out any bubbles. Unstick the grip from the chairs.

6. Cut away the excesses. When smoothing it down, remember to file outwards for extra stick.

7. You now have a board which has double thickness grip, and grippier grip, and the contours will help.

Roughly 1.5 - 2 hours.

Wow. Thats really impressive, if i hadn't given out all my rep for today I would give you some. Maybe tommorow.
I think I'll just stick with regular black though.

looks good..but yeah, it probebly won't last long...but all you have to do is get another sheet.
make the lines like about half the size they are now if you do it again.
