So ive been thinking about making a couple of bands. i know a few people with the talent to create each on of them but I'm not sure which project to do first.

1:Progressive Metal meets Melodic Metalcore with Melodic Death Metal influences.

Like have a combo of Dream Theater, All That Remains, Killswitch Engage, and As I Lay Dying

OR

2: '00 style Punk (Bowling for soup, Sum 41, SR-71) with Oldschool Hip Hop Influence.

Which would you rather listen to?

In hindsight I should have known that I would get this response. I guess I deserved this.

#1 is the same thing three times over
that's like saying country meets bluegrass meets folk

Why do we add core to the end of some genres, does it make it sound cooler or something?

it just means a genre of punk
but somewhere along the line, someone said fuck it and added it to anything that sounded edgy

hardcore, skacore, emocore, etc.
it's just punk and something else

people get fucking stupid with it though, like grindcore and metalcore and stuff. it's like saying this band is this, because they use a slightly different technique/tempo/timbre.

yeah....so all three of those are different man.

Each have unique little aspects. Same as how Soul, Funk, and Motown are similar but all slightly unique.
