I'm not sure how popular this will end up, but it's worth a shot. Just starting to get into country, and now I'm a little obsessed. I'll post some of my favorites

Or anything by Darius Rucker. I loved Hootie and the Blowfish, but country really suits his voice.

Can't go wrong with Jason Aldean

Awesome stuff. I've only been able to get into the more mainstream country music as of now, but we'll see where this goes.

I can stand it for a little while. I caught half of a Dwight Yoakam show over the weekend and it was actually pretty fun. And like Vlad said, obviosuly Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash will always be great. Just goes without saying.

Yea I was kinda expecting this, but I honestly can't get into the less mainstream stuff. Pretty much the only genre of music where I tend to think the more popular stuff is consistently better. But not calling it country is kinda ridiculous, even if you have to refer to it as "pop country".

The guys I posted are three of the most popular country artists of all time....

By main-stream I meant on the raio, current, and atleast a decent percentage of the population knowing about them. Only person I see thats still popular today, that would fit into your country music category is George Jones, and only because he died recently.

i really don't like much country, Vlad's post sums up my thoughts on it well enough. this is the only country song i've been able to listen to recently, and it's probably only because of the good-natured video that goes along with it. i'm actually surprised that i do somewhat enjoy this.
