I'm a 17 year old girl, and I LOVE to make music, and I'd really appreciate it if everyone would go check out: soundcloud.com/p-r0jectavatar for my music. I can probably almost guarantee none of you will like it, but it's worth a shot, eh? Plus, just taking the time to go listen means the world to me. Thanks in advance (:

Listening to Alright, Stop right now. This is pretty decent, nice melodic theme you've got going through it. The part after the guy says "Alright, stop" is rad, great transition from what you've got before it. I haven't listened to the other tracks yet, but you should definitely try and introduce some vocals into this, I'm hearing a kind of trip-hop vibe that could work through it. Check out Portishead and Massive Attack to see what I mean, if you're not already a fan. All in all, I definitely liked this a lot more than I thought I would, you definitely know what you're doing.

Might as well make this a share your music thread, so here's my band. I'm on vocals and guitar. You can download our demo EP for free.

Wow, thanks. I wasn't expecting that, ha. But yeah I see what you mean, I've been meaning to have a friend sing for me. I'll definitely check those bands out. I use Ableton Live, btw.

And nice. That sounds pretty rad! I'm not really into that genre all that much, though, so I don't have much to compare it to.

The track after that, We Don't Have Time for This, has a nice melodic vocal loop in it, but the track itself doesn't really progress much, it's just really chill. That's what I'm working on at the moment, learning to make the track build and breakdown, etc etc.

Thanks! I'd love to hear yours and everyone else's opinions on what I need to work on, etc.

I wasn't expecting it to sound good being that you're a girl and all. I followed you.

Haha, of course you weren't expecting it (:

Ableton Live Suite, AKAI MPK Mini.

I've been playing guitar since I was 6, all self taught. I used to play with my church. But since then, I've been trying to teach myself piano. Things are coming along nicely.

Yeah really pretty nice. Potential man.

However I think you should be careful about what you put online.

Your image is everything, if you are after gaining a fan base I recommend giving yourself time to mature musically before releasing anything. Professional producers sometimes spend years making mediocre songs before they develop their own style and become successful.
It sounds kinda dumb but spend a while thinking about your artist/logo and the look and feel of your music.
Too many people just blast their tracks straight onto the net and barely even consider that they creating an image for them self with those tracks.

Instead be patient and plan ahead, your tunes have potential so give it time and patience and think about every track you upload to the net. It could be a couple of months before your ready or a couple of years, it doesn't matter just be patient.

You have the benefit of being a girl which is already a bonus (the one girl iv ever seen producing) . Id say with practice and good image presentation you could get somewhere. Just don't whack every tune on the net. Spend time refining your sound before releasing tunes and think about how you present your self.

By the way im not a pro or anything, im in a similar situation so i guess my opinion is pretty transparent. But from the people iv talked to and the interviews iv watched I gather that presentation and patience are essential.
