I'm looking for some mellow bands. Kinda with a Jack Johnson flavor. Just mellow acoustic stuff, none of that screamy HxC shit. The kind of band were at a concert you chill, wave a lighter and maybe smoke a joint.

tommy emmanuel is a guitarist, and a dam fine fine at that, who just sits there and plays he doesn't sing or anything but is a great guitarist. he has the best acoustic song i have ever heard it's crazy it's called "the hunt" it is the most amazing song you will ever hear on an acoustic guitar.

There's this overboard band called Plush where I live, they're really really good... way better then Jack Johnson. The only thing is that the guitarist was run over by a car and killed late last year. They're awesome and he was one of the best guitarists I've ever heard.

hmm... try Explosions In The Sky... they're pretty mellow, just instrumental.

Bob Dylan, The Flaming Lips, Jason Mraz?

Phil Keaggy - Acoustic Sketches (that's a cd)

Elliot Smith? Switchfoot?

ummmm as far as mellow goes i would say Ratatat (instramental), Minus the Bear, or maybe some Radiohead (but that might be just me). they arnt acoustic, but they make me feel relaxed.

ive only heard like 2 songs from Iron and Wine and ethier both or just one was acoustic, but from what ive heard they are supposed to be really chill too...

erm, i love incubus' mellow stuff, but if your looking for mellow, dont buy the album S.c.i.e.n.c.e, because thats thier heavier album, get either morning view or a crow left of the murder, or make your self which is a lil more funky.

(I'm not sure who Jack Johnson is, so these may or may not be like his type of music)

Dave Matthews band, they're pretty mellow and jazzy.

Vince Guaraldi Trio is good, a jazz group that did the Charlie Brown music.

Basement Jaxx had some semi-mellow stuff

Coldplay is my favorite soft-rock band, but the majority of posts I've read about Coldplay were negative, so I'm not sure how you feel about them

Kenny Wayne Shepherd had some good songs like "Blue on Black"

Modest Mouse is another band

Snow Patrol has a good selection of mellow songs

Definately "Mississippi King" by Five Horse Johnson.

I saw someone said the dandy warhols, a few of there songs like you were the last high are really mellow and are easy to listen to but you if you want more acustic guitar try some modest mouse, they're one of my favorite bands.
