A Peavey Raptor, Its considered a beginners guitar, but I've had it for 2 years now and I use it in my metal band. Its a sweet guitar. Not over priced either.

I have a Yamaha acoustic and it's really good. I'm gonna get an electric later

Yeah I hear Yamaha is pretty good.. And for the Peavey Raptor, its a pretty sweet looking guitar for such a low price

A few small suggestions:

1. Start out acoustic. Trust me. It works out a lot better in the long run.

2. Don't get the best. Start out with a cheap beginner's pack. The Fender DG-8 pack includes a lot and is a nice guitar without putting out a fortune. The reason why I say this is because there is the chance that you're not going to like guitar or quit after a while. You're not going to want to spend nearly or over a thousand bucks for something that you're not going to do. Get good first, then fork out the cash.

3. Even though I mentioned quitting before, don't do it. It's going to get frustrating and tough, but don't give up. If you lose interest and want to pick up another instrument, that's fine, but don't quit because you suck or you're not as good as you want to be. It takes work and isn't as simple as most people think when they first look at wanting to play guitar.

I hope I helped a bit.

start out with an acustic, doesnt matter what kind, get a cheap one, then in about a year or so, but a good electric

get a package, a fender one is worth the extra 50 bucks more than a peavy
