Is it weird that I'm glad they made it official?

Theres been so many great bands they "broke up", then came back a couple years later, only to fucking suck.
I remember the toadies broke up, then came back, then broke up, then came back again.

I feel as of late jacks musical style is the complete opposite of what the white stripes was, and that it had its time/place. But it's run its course.

Even if the its not the same, I'm a huge dead weather fan, and raconteurs fan.
All of his country stuff is good too.

(ps: I'm not being a dick, or trying to hate on your choice of albums to mention, its understandable if you really do like that album. It just seems like a really strange one to pick.)

their music is great for skating. Im glad they made a good amount of awesome before the separated. I guess i can still look forward to the black keys still making music for a while.

i like their reasoning, sort of brilliant. i haven't listened to them in a really long time but they were definitely one of my favorite bands for a really long time, this would have been heartbreaking if it were for any other reason but its actually sort of inspiring in a weird way.

“The White Stripes do not belong to Meg and Jack anymore. The White Stripes belong
to you now and you can do with it whatever you want. The beauty of art and music is
that it can last forever if people want it to. Thank you for sharing this experience. Your
involvement will never be lost on us and we are truly grateful.”

that is a pretty damn awesome way to end your band

Sick.
I saw them... when white blood cells came out.
I was like 12 and with my dad hah.
One of the first REAL concerts I ever went to.

Oddly enough, years later I saw the raconteurs at the same club.

Meh, Jack White will still put out music, probably better this way. I want to see a solo effort.

back when I first started posting here you were all punx and we had like no music in common. Now you're listening to the stripes and the unicorns and I'm listening to fugazi and we're totally seeing eye to eye on offset fenders and indie girls

this might be the best post i have ever seen on sbc
