i dont recognize any of the names in this forum from the last time i went to new york. but its been three years, so no surprise.
help me out sb-c. im looking for locations, bust info, and hopefully pictures of transition spots in new york city. i dont care what part of the city; im familiar enough with the subway system and honestly, if transportation is a problem in one of the most populated cities in the country, you have a problem. so basically, if you know of some kind of bank to wall, concrete quarterpipe, bank to ledge, wallie spot, banks in general, hips..... please detail them, how i can get there, what i can expect. and images are much appreciated. ill be bumping this for a while because the trip im planning for wont be coming up for another couple months.
also, foundation spots, DIY spots (barriers, etc), that kind of shit is appreciated as well. looking to spend about a week skating this place this time, and trying to walk away with a variety of spots on film. anything you can tell me about any spot involving transition, pole jams, or wallrides will be helpful, basically.
and yes i know about quartersnacks
and yes i know about brooklyn banks, ive been there before.
help will be appreciated greatly

Next to the Brooklyn banks, there is a tunnel with a police barricade on one side. If you've just come from the direction of the banks and you turn to the right you will be going uphill and there will be a series of banks against a wall. Its a pretty dirty spot and its right next to the cops but they wont bother you.
Just explore the around around the banks/that whole downtown area and try battery park for some ledges. Ask people at the banks where you can find some spots like Chinatown banks and such, which is just up the street.

It's fun and it has the rawness that people look for when they come into the city.

Not at all. It seems like it would be since the cops are right there in a booth but they just don't care. They know the banks are a designated skate spot.
The transition is pretty rough, you should like it. Just watch out for bird shit on the ground.

If your talking to me you can go anytime you want really. It's a couple blocks away from Manhattan skatepark by the river. It's under a highway/overpass/bridge whatever you want to call it. You can see the Brooklyn bridge from the spot. Sorry really shitty directions.

that barrier is downtown, not in midtown. It's pretty easy to get too though. Say you've just exited the LES park, turn left and go to the end of the block and then turn left again and head towards the water and you can find it from there.

there's a foundation in jersey city, a train ride out of the city that has a ledge/bank type thing. like you can do a trick on the ledge and pop over into the bank, its in this at 55 seconds YouTube - Stimulus Summer Promo 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAdnGmf9gxw)

Thank you for correcting me. I am terrible with directions in my hometown, let alone nyc. :-$
