Some of you may have seen this guy around somewhere in your town from stencils to graff murals to t-shirts: http://www5a.biglobe.ne.jp/~calcio-d/auto/che%20guevara%20kakou.jpg

He was born in Argentina on June 14, 1928. He would serve as a cuban guerella leader and doct. He met Fidel Castro in Mexico City and joined the movement that was to overthrow dictator Fulgencio Bautista. And although he was responsible/in charge for the execution of many "criminals" he is a symbol of revolution to some people and suffered a bloody death. On October 8 he was captured in south latin america. He was wounded in the legs by officals and took to a school house to be executed. He was shot in the chest and laid out in a shower tub for the press to see. Later his body was taken by bolivian officers. CIA agent Felix Rodriguez headed to bolivia looking for Che Guevara. Rodriguez took the rolex Che had received from Fidel Castro. Some people say Fidel abandoned and blocked any communication from Che leading to his death.

On April 15, 1961 US CIA lead an attack on Cubas "bay of pigs" with cuban exiles trained by the CIA on Guatemalan training grounds. These invaders where captured because JFK cancelled the attack at the last minute leaving these militia by themselves and US marines were not to aid them, JFK in other words abondoned these cuban exiles (JFK was later assasinated by who knows ;) ). For a period of time cuba was doing well in economy until they started bringing in a lot of sugar that was being traded for oil. Fidel foolishly set a goal of 10,000 tons of sugar but only brought in 8,000 bringing cuban economy to a low. I think if it wasn't for this cuban economy would be good. Restriction of religion isn't bad in Cuba although Fidel is atheist. So I guess it isn't that bad I mean look at other communist countries. Pure propaganda is how Fidels image is addressed, and gestures during speeches (sp?) are critized by some. Fidel Assasination attempts planned by the US when JFK was president didn't succed and some one got JFK ;). Fidels remarks and critism about the US is what may give him that image and vision hatred, Fidel lives to this day most likely one of few who speak bad about the US and its Goverment, and how they exploit small countries. This may or may not be the reason why "the revolution" may concern you and what it may mean to you. And to me if I ever did a che stencil with the words "revoultion" next to it would be to mess with peoples heads not making me a complete oxymoron that doesn't see the deaths cubans have brought to US attemps to overthrow the Cuban communism. Cuba is still run by governed by communism to this day.
